Didn’t even look at the temp this morning before I headed out. Just grateful for the rain.

Kind of an unusual shadowing is happening here. Looking at the radar there should be some kind of sprinkling but nothing.

At least it's overcast, I was getting bored of the sun.

GFS is back to showing rain for western WA and SW BC over the weekend.

Well it’s a weekend...considering recent history we should have expected it. That’ll be 4 weekends in a row.

It would fit the cycle we have been stuck in for weeks now.

Interestingly... the GEFS had been trending west and warmer for the weekend for the last few runs including the 06Z GEFS.    We will see if the 12Z GEFS reverses that trend like the operational run did.

Not sure about the Pac NW, but here the GEFS is by far the worst-performing ensemble suite. Gets its a** whooped by the EPS and GEPS consistently.

Yeah... its pretty bad.   But it can be somewhat useful within 7 days when there is model disagreement.

Good to know.

You should’ve scheduled a trip out here this week, man. Like Seattle in July..Mid-70s, Sunny, low humidity. Makes me realize that I love everyone, even heat misers. :P

Picked up .30” this morning. Over 3” on the month.

Currently 59 after a low of 53.

That has to help delay wildfire season, right?

Soil moisture content in WA/OR is the highest it’s been since 2011 and 2012 for this time of year.

Hopefully it’s wet enough this weekend to cancel the birthday/ Father’s Day bbq. That would be a blessing.

We’ll be having one at the in-laws regardless, covered porch area. Although I doubt Sunday will be wet.

Jesse continues to be way more interested in people's perceptions of the weather than the weather itself.

It will never change.

For the record... I have said many times that there is nothing too unusual about this June based on historical averages.     I also think normal June weather around here can be pretty disappointing in terms of summer expectations and its often my least favorite month because of that disparity.   Not sure what else to say... but Jesse will continue to pound on it until everyone loves 55-degree rain in the summer.    And that will never happen so its best to just let it go.   People spend all winter lamenting how bad our climate is for cold and snow as well.  We don't have to love every aspect of climo.

Other than a slightly more robust dent in the ridge late Saturday into Sunday... the 12Z ECMWF is pretty nice.   Much more summery than it has been.  Just some more bad weekend timing as usual.
