Nice and kind of crisp morning. I guess crisp by PacNW summer standards. Just thinking yesterday that I kind of miss the heat and humidity of the East Coast.

Until you spend 5mins outside. Then you immediately long for crisp PNW weather again.

Nah, a hot and humid day brings about usually a pleasant evening filled with fireflies, nocturnal storms, and a nice cold beer. Some of my best memories of PA will be looking out my window and marveling at those towering thunderheads that were a 100 miles away, filled with flashes of white and purple.

Your PA evenings must have cooled off better than mine.

The nastiest dewpoints here are in the 5-10pm window, after the lee trough forms and shifts winds to southerly w/ the bay/sea breeze. I’m with you on the thunderstorms, though.

Agreed. Cooler than normal through the end of the run.

Just had a downpour move through here... now temporarily sunny.

Those low clouds licking the evergreen-covered ridgetops reminds me of Hippa island. Love that place so much.

Nothing like waking up to sunny skies and fogged up windows on a Saturday morning.

Maybe one day I'll wake up to heavy rain and cool temps on the weekend... A man can dream.

Did you go up the Clackamas side or the Breitenbush side?

Here is the link for the Portland chart in particular. You can change the city name in the URL to get different ones, but it will only work if it’s a city that they make a chart for.

http://old.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_Portland_Oregon_USA_ens.png?hc_location=ufi

GFS ensemble charts come out four times a day, maybe a half hour or so after the operational stops running. ~4:30, 10:30, 4:30, 10:30.

It can be hit or miss. I’ve done very well at times. My favorite time of year to go is October.

Thanks a bunch!

FYI. Jesse’s link is for the older version of the site and it sometimes goes offline for a couple days at a time. With the newer version you have the options for surface temps and snowfall etc. Also the older version seems to run colder for Portland at times for some reason. Maybe consider saving both links.

Here’s the new link:

Also I don’t know if the new one has more locations available but I can actually get ensemble charts for a ton of locations worldwide, including some very small towns. Condon and Pilot Rock in Oregon have ensemble charts.

It can be hit or miss. I’ve done very well at times. My favorite time of year to go is October.

I was there in mid September, and even though the high was 75, it still got well below freezing. That was when I found out my 25 degree bag was only good till about 35 degrees.

Had a low of 33 here. Was very close to flaking. Moisture = check. Cold = Yessir. Just didn't happen. Not at KLMT anyway.

And some graupel occurred half hour ago. Gonna be one of those days.

57 and mostly sunny here...looks like a good band of showers is dropping in from the north so that won’t last long.

Just had a heavy downpour here a bit ago, picked up another quarter inch of rain.

Looks like it’s shaping up to be a really nice June. We are due.

just wanted to clarify, by nice you mean cool and soggy? Basically no one’s definition Of nice.

It'd be nice to have some of that.
