June 2020 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

EPS maps are finally back!

Snowsquall too. He is basically the Jim of heat during the warm season. Totally disappears when there isn’t anything to screech about on the models.

It’s been a good run. We’ve seen very little of either the past few weeks, and have a rare cool and wet start to June to show for it!

EPS has been very consistent with the warm up beginning about one week from now and has been moving the timing up accordingly and the 12Z run is slightly faster than the 00Z run which a good sign.

It shows that the cold air begins to slowly shift east during the day next Wednesday into Thursday and then it turns warm.

Nice to have something on the horizon. Today it not bad... but it starts going downhill tomorrow and the cold air stays in place then until next Wednesday.

The 10-15 day mean looks lovely...

I thought you liked normal temps with PM Sun and disliked big heat?

That pattern is f**king terrible and I’m glad it’s transient. It’s the most humid pattern possible for 75% of the US population, and by far the worst pattern for wildfire smoke/US air quality. Only sadists could root for such a tragic outcome.

STFU.

And side note... I do love sun and 75.

69 with a DP of 58. Definitely feels muggy. Some decent looking showers to the south of here...but they haven’t been holding together as they track northward too well.

What is with your incessant need to try and control other peoples weather preferences? Let alone people that are 2,500+ miles away? It's really a bit odd.

Here's a thought: You root for the weather that you like to see in your backyard and let us do the same. We won't give you sh*t, and you won't give us sh*t. How's that sound?

I don’t know why anyone on here even cares what other people think of the weather. It’s the dumbest daily debate on here by far. Who cares if someone wants it to be raining the next week or sunny it’s just so dumb. Everyone likes what weather they like....it’s not going to change and it’s not like people’s weather preferences have any tangible affect on what the weather does lol.

Ya know, with everyone falling back into old habits— seems like a good time for me to ask for a windstorm.

The Ecmwf has been teasing heat for a while now and it gets pushed back or it doesn’t get as hot. If it keeps showing it then eventually be will be right heh

New long range pattern update from Brett Anderson through the first week of July. Looks pretty seasonal with wetter conditions in the northern portion of the PNW. He says confidence is low however.

"Confidence is fairly low across western Canada through early July due to the lack of strong signals."

What is he basing this on? The hot weather in the southwest and California will eventually make its way up here based on what we have seen in recent years. Seasonal weather for now sounds nice hehheh

Ended up with a vicinity thunder this afternoon. Some flashing/bolts towards the CA border and got some outflow winds around 35-40mph here. Had to shut a few windows due to the wind.

This is just pulse type convection. I'm saving my cameras for later this week.

Did it just get less humid there or something?

Yes, actually. Lol.

Had a nice storm that overturned the atmosphere. Went from 90/75 to 74/70.

The guy is a clown and someone gave him a new set of Crayons.  Followed his forecasts and crayon maps for years.  Junk.
