VancouverIslandSouth
Just got back to Tacoma...felt refreshingly cool. 75/57 over here today. Kind of strange that it was cooler down there than it was up here. I always thought the lower sound almost always ends up warmer than here on sunny days. Phil
Cicadas buzzing like crazy.Yeah it’s really loud now. Can hear them from every room in the house, especially the morning and evening hours. High Desert Mat?
Not that I saw. Redmond is nearby though. I wonder how close I was to High Desert Mat. One thing that area has is some of the best Cascade views in Oregon. At one point, I think I could see 10 peaks at the same time. Much more than Bend.I live in the NE part of Redmond. Bought a house last March on 3rd street which is on the east side of the highway. So you were probably about 24 minutes away. I work in Bend everyday and don’t see why there’s so many people living there these days. The traffic congestion has gotten unbearable and the cost to live there is painful. I’m sure Redmond will be there soon from the looks of things here. Another half dozen new 50,000 2ft buildings are starting here again. Doctors offices and medical manufacturing going in. It’s just a matter of time.

Phil
Notable WPAC cooling over the last week, with warming over the MC/IPWP and Atlantic. Inverse of what you’d expect for a hot August in the PNW. I wonder if September might be the warmest month of the year in the PNW region. Given the seasonal changes in ET/tropical exchanges beginning around that time, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility should the IO/far WH low pass signal continue, IMO. Highs still look to top out around 90 in the Puget Sound area on Tuesday, and then drop back down to the low 80s by Wednesday and mid 70s on Thursday. Overall, looking like a short heat wave.
