June (July) 2020 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Whining always pays off eventually. :)

We mentioned the unfavorable cycle... and Cliff Mass did a couple blog posts on it... and we mention the favorable cycle with sunny, warm weekends.   Nature just does what it does and we observe it and plan around it.

Clouds and intermittent drizzle don’t have to be “planned around”, though. They don’t prevent you from doing any activities.

Extreme heat and/or high doses of UV can easily send you to the hospital, though.

Here we go again!

There were numerous weekends here that were chilly and damp and we did have to plan around. That's life... we have other options. But it seemed like every weekend was the same so it was getting old. Lots of bad luck on timing.

Nobody here wants to do water activities when its 62 degrees and windy with drizzle.

But this will now be 3 out of 4 weekends in July that have been just about perfect.

It’s adorable how you two rediscover each other every 24-48 hours.

The tension is like Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd in the first few seasons of Moonlighting.

Meanwhile, it's 84F here so we will be cooler than yesterday as expected. Might get to 90F but I think it'll be close.

Makes me ill. I don’t know if growing up on the water and my parents and grandparents teaching me about how to be responsible on the water...And witnessing first hand jetski and boating accidents right out in front of our place has made me a very cautious boater/jetskier. I have also taken boating safety classes and of course have my boaters license, but some people just get on these very powerful machines and just go crazy. Makes the rest of us responsible people look bad as well unfortunately. I will never forget when a 14 or so year old girl lost an entire arm from a jetski accident right out from our dock in the cove, that was about 20yrs or so ago but I still remember the screaming to this day...God awful.

94/54 here. It did feel cooler today. Perhaps because it was a bit breezy. Looks like Eugene is the big "winner" in the valley again this year. Looking forward to some moderation. I'm more than a little bit worried that fire season could get nasty soon.
