Had a warm time camping, but thanks to the elevation it was a lot more pleasant than what the lowlands experienced. I will say, Cascade River and Cascade Pass area of the North Cascades National Park

Same with Victoria, I've seen some flashes and heard distant thunder but nothing has come close yet. Different story further north on the island, my brother captured these from Nanoose looking SE over

In Eugene today for my wife s surgery. Pleasant day. And seems like the procedure went well.

90 now. First time this year! Still got a couple hours to go. If we hit 92...it’ll be the hottest day since 6/25/17 at this location when we hit 94. If we hit 95...it’ll be the hottest day since 8/11/14. Doubt we get any hotter than 95 though...If we do it’ll be the second hottest day I’ve recorded here.

It always feels weird to have temperatures over 90 with cloud cover in Portland.

I remember a day like that on June 29 2008. Overcast the entire afternoon yet managed to reach 88-90 degrees and we had a t'storm event that evening in the PDX/HIO areas.

Made it up to 89.6 so far, I can barely see the tops of the clouds that are over the south sound, but from the satellite loops it looks like the whole thing is rotating east as it moves north, so I don't think we will benefit.  Can't say I would really want them here unless they were going to bring rain/t-storms.

94!!

Power went out for 5 seconds...So I was air conditionless for that long!

The horror!   I'm thankful you lived to tell the tale....

I've been going on nothing except central heating for the winter the past 8 and a half years ;)

Eventually I can cope with heatwaves but the transitions into summer are terrible.

Would be pretty awful if you had to experience the temperatures you spend all summer rooting for for a couple minutes.

As mentioned... more cloudy nights with frequent rain up here at least.

This August is pretty much the opposite of last August in terms of clouds and rain. Despite the overall temperature stats. There is way more to a month than just the average temperature.

I’d still take the Euro over the GFS in this pattern w/ the MJO over the EPAC. The GFS & especially GEFS likes to stall it there, which won’t happen in reality.

Actually is really nice when you are on the water. Says all the people on the water today. There are lots of us. :)

Would not want it every day though. Upper 70s and low 80s is ideal in opinion.

Looking like today will end up a 97/61 spread. 4 days ago we had a high temp of just 67....and the high temp was only 80 degrees yesterday. In addition to being the second warmest day I’ve had here...it’s also the largest diurnal spread I’ve ever had at 36 degrees. It’s also the hottest day I’ve ever had in the month of August.
