yeah looks really impressive. Waiting for a sale until I go dig out my joystick and pedals. Think it would be fun to do the gorge approach I've been on many times flying back in from SLC/LAS

Join the Xbox live online and you can play it for $1 then the $10 a month after that. I’ll probly end up buying it thru Steam. They just added a microtransaction for a PDX addition and it looks amazing.

Y’all can also play it with an XBox or PS4 controller into the USB too

Gotta have a good computer tho.

Got my fist hike of the season in and was a doozy. Granite mountain about 9 miles round trip and 3800 elevation gain the first 4 miles. Was just beautiful with some of the fall colors starting up.

I bought it the day it came out. Once it finished installing on my computer (which took 10 hours) I gave it a whirl.

As someone that loved FSX, I was horribly disappointed with it. I expected to have the same basic controls as FSX, so that I could easily control it with my mouse as a yoke and the keyboard for everything else. Once I realized that the default controls were all with the keyboard, I changed it so I could use my mouse as a yoke. The smallest movements sent the Cessna spiraling out of control. I had no clue what was going on or what to do so I gave up and got a refund.

Did I give up too quickly? Probably. Convince me to give it another shot, although I'm assuming a keyboard and mouse probably just isn't the best way to play.

Yeah it’s really meant for a controller or joystick. Very tough to play with just a keyboard & mouse. Might need to turn the in-game mouse sensitivity down too.

I tried that as well. It was like I would give it the slightest input to yaw right and the plane would just pitch straight down and it was impossible to recover. Oh well.

Pretty impressive trough showing up on the models now as we get into week two.  Maybe another year where we crash hard in October.  Seems like the contrast between September and October has been quite extreme as of late most years.

I have sadly gotten hooked on it, the graphics are amazing, and they are getting the weather dialed in....the weather feed took a crap at one point yesterday afternoon, but seems to be back work this morning.  The cloud textures, the effects for rain showers shading against the scenery, turbulence flying though clouds etc.   Found a mod called FS Economy that works with most of the flight sims, the premise being you rent planes and fly missions for money.  Eventually you can get enough money to buy your own plane, buy FBO's etc.

The attached screenshot was in the Seatac area.  Also did a night flight into Atlanta with partly cloudy skies, and it was interesting to see the light pollution as a thin strip on the horizon grow to the point that when I got over the city, the interior of the aircraft was illuminated and the underside of the clouds had that weird orange glow.

I just remembered this from late last September 2019, 5 feet of snow in Heart Butte, MT. Even for rural Montana that was pretty early to be getting large amounts of snowfall like that.

https://i.imgur.com/MxRaJlt.jpg

In the PNW we continued to have one of the coolest and driest beginnings to Fall in years. I was breaking and matching a few low temperature records of my own in Klamath Falls. November was also dry but this changed in the final week during the "Bomb Low" storm in southern Oregon close to Thanksgiving. This gave me a minor blizzard on Nov 26th and it wasn't your typical powdery snow. Late that night I recall actual 4WD trucks struggling to go up the hill by my street, one of them literally sliding back down. lol I tested it by walking around and that was difficult too.

Also noteworthy are the two back to back months solidly below normal at KLMT, but unfortunately November ruined what could have been an extremely rare stretch of 3 below. I couldn't say when something like that last occurred at any station including the east sides. Sep 2019 (-2.0), Oct 2019 (-3.3), and Nov 2019 (+2.2). On the bright side, J/J/A actually averaged out within a margin of normal range at KLMT at +0.5. Personally I consider anything coming out at -0.5 to +0.5 to be average, and +1.0 to be a solid warm month. But I would like to ask an actual Meteorologist what their thresholds are such stats.

Yeah, you probably need to get a joystick.  I'm running a Logitech extreme 3d pro, it has a simple throttle and the grip twists to control the rudder.  It gets the job done and I think they run about $50.  I've actually noticed that a lot of youtube simmers use this joystick.  When I get back working again I am going to work on getting rudder pedals and a throttle set up.  I've also got a "poorman's" track IR set up which consists of a modified PS3 camera and a 3D printed IR LED set up.  I paid $50 for that (the real Track IR runs $200).

Thanks for the recommendation!

I'll probably give it a shot eventually.

So, I tried to get an Imgur upload to actually display on the forum here and it's not really working the same. Anyone else have that issue?

Pretty sweet. I’m going to have to buy the Xbox game pass for PC to try it out. I love me some PC games.

I remember early Black Friday last year the zero degree (or close to) weather didn't stop folks here from forming lines of customers outside Fred Meyer. Gotta get those cheap socks and DVD's.
