There are going to be some pretty significant totals up here.     It will be raining most of the time until next Monday morning.  Probably enough to turn what has been a relatively dry September into a much wetter than normal month.   Please forgive us for looking forward to it not raining for a few days next week.

Gotta wonder if Bryant is even gonna bother when he comes back.

Hi. If you want a deeper view of what's going on especially on our end but he does all over check out Mike Morals on Youtube. Skip past the first few minutes of his 'unboxing' to where he shows the maps on his latest videos and he talks about things beyond the stunning silence of the TV Mets.

He gets pretty deep in the upper air stuff and I learned a lot from that way and he does it almost daily.   I only recently heard of him from another weather enthusiast 1 Pacific Redwood whom mostly covers California and isn't so reliable anymore in updates.

For a bit more casual viewing check out Geo Diode's climate casebook with very vibrant pictures explaining how different climates effect each other he has an entire video on the Asian Monsoon subject and gets pretty in depth to that though he doesn't go into specific events he covers a lot in general terminology.  I'd like to know what kind of camera he has and curious of it's price!🤔

I've often wondered why Asia gets such insane rainfall totals in the summertime often exceeding our winter totals!!!  It makes whatever your rainfall totals you brag about in the winter look like someone just spat in the gauge............................................  In the winter time their rainfall goes to like zilch and become more like Redmond Oregon in the winter at least away from the jungle regions.

I hope you're right, although I have a feeling this is going to be yet another of those occasions when we'll have to read posts from Tim and Randy and the rest of the folks up north saying "Absolutely pouring buckets right now. 4.76" on the day, 8.44 over the last 2 days, 17.59 for the month, 1,297.58 for the year," etc., while we'll have to make do on half an inch or so.

Currently at 0.00” on the day!! 😀

Looking at the insane warmth on the 0z GFS reminds me of the insane warmth in early Nov 2010.  Just three weeks after that the hammer dropped with an epic reversal and very cold weather for the NW.  Like this year it was a first year Nina cold season.  I think the chances are better than not we will see a big crash after that monster ridge sets up.  Reversals are common with such extreme patterns.

Here we go. By the way, I guess I was wrong when I said the Washingtonians would be reporting feet of rain while Eugene gets only half an inch. It's looking more like a quarter of an inch now.

I am guessing all this rain up here is going to make for some great fall color in October.   The trees looked like they were about to give up last week with all the smoke and lack of rain in September... but now it looks mostly green again.   I am guessing some of the yellow leaves were blown off in the wind... but now everything looks perked up.

I am not saying this is the situation everywhere... but its quite noticeable in my area with much more rain to come.    There are years when the rain does not come in time and many of the trees seem to go from green to wilted brown to bare pretty quickly.

You seem fired up tonight. I don't think there have even been any big "preference battles" the last several days. At least nothing I’ve actively been a part of.

Maybe you are getting the discussion on the affects of climate change in our region confused with a preference battle?

Sorry about the other night. Was having a bad night and misread the situation. I’d like for people to get along on here better without the bickering is all. With that being said...I still love this place and appreciate everyone on here. Interestingly... the 06Z ECMWF was pretty much dry for Saturday and now the 12Z GFS agrees.    That is a big change from the 00Z GFS.

Up to .35 inches on the day so far with a temp of 58.

Definitely a classic fall-feel to the day today. I'm almost ready for days like this, but not quite yet. Would like a few more sunny and warm days before we turn the page to constant gray and rain.

I am well aware this is not a well-liked opinion on here, so I've braced myself for the impending downvotes.
