My wife is supposed to fly home from Denver this evening. Flight is already delayed an hour.

Ended up with an 87/54 day yesterday. PDX of course hit 90, up to #7 for the season there. Should tack on another three today through Thursday.

Lots of high smoke out today, hazy sunshine. Hit a low of 59, already up to 85 now. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day.

Summer ☀️ grows while Winter ❄️  goes

Up to 91 in Silverton. Hit up the parade in Mt. Angel, saw the two time defending champion Kennedy Trojans baseball team. Some say the greatest team we have ever seen at the small school level in Oregon . My son said he wished it was a bit cooler.

O the snow, the beautiful snow!
Filling the sky and the earth below!
Over the house-tops, over the street,
Over the heads of the people you meet,
Dancing, Flirting, Skimming along.
Beautiful snow! it can do nothing wrong.

The smoke is clearly visible out there and it's going to stick around for some time it appears.  At least the next three days according to the models.  Impacts should remain minimal for most part as it will mostly be at higher elevations.  You could really see the smoke layer over night as the moon was orange.  The smoke is streaming in from Canada.

Absolutely beautiful in Puerto Vallarta today. Since we’re just off the coast it’s way cooler, but also still just as humid so a perfect combo for a variety of reasons. Y’all can draw your own conclusions as to what I mean when being on a cruise ship. 😎

This smoke should help Seattle avoid 90 tomorrow. Maybe this will be the first year to avoid 90 at Seatac since 2011.

I dunno… this seems like a long shot unless you are referring to how we’ll be in smoke all summer to avoid a 90.

We’re about to enter peak heat and peak dry for the year. August will probably feature a few 90s.

last year SEA hit 90 well into September and an 88 to follow in mid-October. In 2020, there was a 90 in September also. Not really an example of a trend or anything but it can happen.

I think we just need to get through the period of July 15- august 15.
