Little Rock?

Fayetteville AR maybe

Lived there for 2 years. It is incredibly underrated. The entire northwest corner of the state is amazing. Little Red River, Pinnacle Mountain, Petit Jean State Park, Mt Nebo, Mt Magazine... a lot to offer and very few residents.

Low for today was 62F and honestly it felt like an early Fall morning. Even with the smoke it was "coldish" which was weird.

Gosh that's horrible. I'm sorry to hear that. That's seriously the worst!

As for my location. We had a few more showers after my last post so I'll check later to see where we're at.

Did anyone notice they took the reactions down during that last update?

Much nicer! And feels warmer as well even though today was supposed to be the cooler of the days. And I think I found Matt’s 2 plastic patio chairs that blew away from his place several years ago! Oh and watch for very large rocks out on the river!

Much better looking satellite imagery today. We will see if it holds together but some rain is working into the southern sound. The system coming in tomorrow looks dynamic on satellite and radar…but the models don’t show anything today crazy. Not expecting much measurable precip until tomorrow most likely. For now it’s clouding up 71 outside.

75 and partly cloudy in North Bend... beautiful summer day.    Wish we could avoid a return to smoke.

We’ve only had 7 days with “good” air quality in the last month. First half of summer was fine, but the last 6 weeks have been crap.

ECMWF actually did show some rain during the afternoon and evening today.

We will see, had a few sprinkles so far today but that’s about it. I’m sure it will get here eventually though.

Here is a casualty of Hilary....an Alaska flight planted itself a little too firmly at John Wayne airport.

I'm going to be flying in to SNA on Alaska in a few weeks, hopefully my landing will go better.

Fixed reactions for now.

On a related note, I still hate MySQL.

Ain't that the truth. Just finished my Database class at UW a few days ago that I got my first 4.0 in a while. That being said, MySQL has driven me genuinely insane for our final project.

That’s substantial damage to a $125m plane! Quite a landing to puncture the landing gear thru the wing.

Love days like this. 69 (nice) and cloudy, pretending it's autumn while sipping early evening coffee. 🍂

It feels so much like fall. 62F right now and there's a chill in the air. Of course the weekend looks warm in EWA. But so much to be thankful for.

I hope it's decaf for your sake. I used to hate on decaf but now I really like it.

If you look closely you can see the smoke wrapping into the ULL offshore that will move inland tomorrow.

Vancouver is such a beautiful city. Definitely returning. I could live here for sure.

Best Dim Sum this side of San Francisco or Hong Kong.

It feels fantastic don’t it?

I stay up pretty late, past 2-3 AM cause I love the late nights. So I drink my coffee in the late afternoon and get work done as the sun sets. Classic night owl I am. Or vampire 🧛‍♂️

Finally a nice slug of rain moving through. Just enough to wet the ground but still nice that it’s finally raining. 73/53 temp spread today.

0.05” from that shower…will probably get some more rain showers overnight. It’ll be weird going from smoke->rain and clean air->smoke again. Unfortunately getting offshore flow coming up will dry us out again. It’s nice getting a little taste of fall this evening still.

00Z Canadian smoke model shows the Seattle area might escape the worst of it through Saturday.   Not so good in SW BC though.

One more note... that smoke in SW BC is actually heading west at 72 hours with SE flow aloft around ULL offshore.

Wow, that looks awful for poor @Rubus Leucodermis. Also, it looks like I did not pick a great weekend to vacation in Victoria. Just gotta hope it’s temporary and the worst gets pushed out to sea after the end of the run.

We've had a pretty good run of luck in terms of missing out on surface smoke so far. Maybe we luck out again.
