ABC mets Mike Caplan & Phil Schwarz openly discussing the potential for a couple inches of slushy snow accumulations on the backside of this system come Monday. Just throwing it on here since it's within the dates.

Not too impressed with the snow chances with this. Ground temps are in the upper 50s here now. A lot of rain coming though.

Got another storm over night - only put down 0.10" though.

Might need a canoe later on...! lol

To be fair, Geos, ground temps were in the 60s in Nebraska and there is some snow currently sticking to the ground in some areas. Now I don't think it'll snow enough here to accumulate, but it could stick a little if it did snow at a decent rate. Don't think it would stick to the road, but maybe on the grass and other areas like that.

Solid surfaces retain that heat, so no I don't think salt trucks will be needed. The grass blades don't retain heat, so there's the main reason it will stick on the that surface. Forecast has < 0.5" for tomorrow night here, so will see what happens. If it only sticks on the grass it will be difficult to measure accurately.

Horrible conditions in central Nebraska. 6 inches of wind blown snow blizzard conditions the last 4 hours. Drove back to holdrege from lunch at friends house in the country, 8 miles took 40 minutes. Many cars in the ditches between funk and holdrege on highway 6. City auditorium is now a warming station. Not sure why we were never placed in a blizzard warning. Toughest driving conditions I have driven in the last several years. Good news is that we had over 1 inch of rain this am wth lightning and thunder and now this very heavy wet snow.

Finally NE is getting some much needed moisture, its been a long time coming.  Hopefully that helps the farmers out there.  Wondering if the grass turns green bc of the Spring snows.

I missed this so much. It's awesome waking up to a thunderstorm with heavy rain, Lincoln and Omaha did really well with precip, both well over 1". 18z GFS gives areas near Omaha 11-12" this week as well! It'll be a close call here in Lincoln, but one slight shift SE we also get those totals. Plenty of time, but I'd LOVE a snowstorm, especially since the risk of thundersnow with storms in April is a lot higher. :)
