In fact, my mom knew Josef Korbel personally, and that's why we have his book. He gave it to her. He was in our house a few times.

It could not have been coincidence...

In 1955 Josef Korbel was in prison in Leopoldov, an ancient fortress in Czechoslovakia, paying the price for being an officer in the outlawed Salvation Army and for his spiritual activity - especially among children and young people.
At that same time another man nervous and careful, scared and yet longing - hushed visitor into a quiet place somewhere in Prague, not far from the prison.

The man? He was one of the well informed friends of the now banned Salvation Army in Czechoslovakia

Reading this book will help us understand the suffering of the Church in Communist lands. Visitors from the free world may see many churches in the larger cities and get the impression there is religious freedom. But they cannot see behind-the-scenes efforts of the unofficial policy to reduce church attendance, disallow the building of new churches, forbid the printing of Bibles, and restrict the celebration of holidays and obscure their religious purpose with unreligious meanings. Visitors cannot see the prohibition of religious training for children, or the ban on distribution of religious information over radio and television. (Only evolution can be taught in public schools. On TV, Disney is inserting LGBQT characters into movies for little kids).

Visitors cannot see the social and economic pressures against Christians that deny them jobs, education and other privileges. (Conservatives can be fired from their jobs for stating their beliefs. Professors are fired from universities for saying biological sex is real. People are getting arrested for reading the Bible or praying in public squares). Visitors cannot see the propaganda efforts to convert believers - from kindergarten age through older years - to atheism (Gender ideology and CRT are being taught in the public schools starting in kindergarten).

Are we headed in the direction of Czechoslovakia in the 1950s-1960s? It seems that way. My mom lived there. She knew exactly what it was like and that's why she left there in 1968 after the Prague Spring, when Soviet troops came in with tanks.

And in Monster truck rallies, gun shows, and whole swaths of the country, conservatives think liberals have dangerous ideas.  What's your bloody point?

The difference between us (you and I) and them (soviet communists) is that we're not throwing people in jail for those ideas, religious or otherwise.

And btw, there's only one modern political party in the US who has recently chanted 'lock them up' on more occasions than you can count during political rallies.

The reason conservative want guns is mainly for self defense. Even if we banned them, the psychopaths would find some way to obtain them illegally. Also the "dangerous ideas" brought up by liberals include conservatives on campus speaking out against socialism, as in a Will Witt video I posted once.

I know a writer from Russia that spent prison time over there for daring to write a novel featuring God.  
It took a group of US publishers lobbying to get him out and bring him to the US.  He lives in Pa. now.
The battle is real. 
 

They aren’t prosecuting writers with controversial opinions here - yet- but you never know when they’ll crack down.

Maybe I shouldn't have said gun show - it was the first thing that came to mind where like-minded conservatives might hang out.  It had nothing to do with my opinion on guns.

I looked this guy's name up and one of the first google hits was a federal court 1st amendment case that the judge immediately threw out. I'm not going to do more than that to assume this and the other crap you send is once again garbage.

You just automatically assume anything from a conservative website is false, even if there's actual videos of the incident. Just like Trump assumes all liberal websites are fake news.

I don't have to assume.  I looked at the case text that has facts and not just the narrative that you love to push.

Not based on the content of his speech, but they say he made "threats of violent behavior". How can he make a threat of violent behavior without speaking?

According to what they were doing to him, he would have to respond physically in self-defense

There were actually naked people at the Pride Event. Why weren't they considered dangerous?

You are misunderstanding the quote. The police said the there was a threat of violence between him and the larger group.  And to reduce the threat between him and the protestors, they wanted to move him further away from the crowd.  But he refused cause all he is is a troll.  So he got arrested.

Try reading the case if you're gonna comment on it.

So it sounds like he was making the crowd angry and they got violent, which posed a threat to him and others, so they asked him to move for his own safety, and he refused to do so. There's nothing that said he had a gun or tried to shoot someone.

I guess he was being a hypocrite by not following Jesus' own advice in Matthew 7:6 - "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you."

There's still the two other cases though, and one of them was even published in Newsweek.
