With the exception of the upper 40s in Everett, yesterdays 50°F low was the coolest I’ve seen since May.

The fair comes to me every year.  I have no choice living mere blocks from the beast.

Made it to the summit of Mt. Seymour on the last day of the last weekend of astronomical summer. Could definitely feel a weather system was coming in as I got close to the trailhead on the return trip; it was getting quite chilly.

12Z hour 240 precip, ensemble mean. Of particular note is that the ECMWF mean is nowhere near as stingy on precip for Oregon as is the operational.

Dry is good for the cold season. It usually means cold Arctic air which is drier. You don’t want a wet signal which usually signifies milder air like a Pineapple Express pattern.

Wish more of OR got in on the love but you wouldn't see me turning this down. Plus, it picks up on the ULL activity over the northeast part of the state over the next couple days. Very beneficial rain for that area, and it'll even drop some termination dust over the high peaks. Overall a much cooler system incoming tonight compared to what is modeled above a week further into Autumn, which is funny to think about.

We have very warm air masses even in November with AR events.     Warm usually equals wet from mid fall through winter.

I was just curious about the storms not coming in "order" thermally speaking, especially since Sep/Oct are two months of great change, where just one week can make a difference. Though the gradient of seasonal shift is pretty shallow, even during the heart of Autumn, so in any given year we are liable to recieve pass level snow the first week of September, only to scurry back into the toaster come time to flip the calendar again. But it's fun to think about a Fall where everything is in order.
