Even though skies have been sunny and blue. There are still some wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest. A pretty decent sized one burning in the central Oregon Cascades. A few small ones on the Olympic peninsula and then some more small ones in the North Cascades.

SEA is running almost perfectly normal for the first half of September.   This month has been pretty much climo so far in terms of temps.   The were some complaints yesterday when someone described a climo low temp map as "gross".    Double standard.

Sue me for not wanting frost yet

Sunday looks to be the start of serious relief here. Monday will be a cloudy, nearly sunless day. Also, that trough on the long range 18z GFS is the coldest it's modeled yet this 'Fall' season.

Before anyone makes some super hilarious druncle comments, the 12z Euro is pretty chilly too. Hopefully we can see some sustained cooler weather for a bit, it’s been pretty much constant torching around here since late April.

There's a fire weather watch for much of EWA on Sunday afternoon with very low humidity.

I am also terrified of the seasons changing.

I didn't get that sense from him... I think he is just hoping to extend his garden if possible.    But there are a couple people on here who seem to be actually terrified of seasonal changes on the other side of the year.   They are the ones who mock anyone who has different opinions.   🤨

Looks like the GFS swung towards the ECMWF solution earlier in the week... now showing a nice rain event for western WA and even farther south on Tuesday night.

ECMWF still shows some rain Tuesday night and then a chilly day on Wednesday even with lots of afternoon sun.   That day is going to feel like October with a north wind and temps only in the low to mid 60s.

Quite a sunny, dry run overall with almost no low clouds after Wednesday morning with gradual warming.

I’m ready for the change. Wish it would come with some mid 40s and rain before clear nights and frost. Sure hope it rains soon

2023 will be remembered as the year Seattle and Los Angeles switched climates.

When did Seattle get a hurricane?

Pretty confident in taking the AC units out today.

75 here after a low of 49. We just might hit 80 again today but it’ll be close. Really disappointed in how long it’s taking for fall to really hit. The rains last month helped and it’s been a bit cooler overall…but summer is still very much in charge. Atleast the rains helped knock down the smoke for awhile.

I’m starting to think that August (0.48”) May end up wetter than September (0.03” so far)…but still could easily get a decent soaking the last few days of the month.
