Totally agree... its been a text book gradual step down transition from summer to fall.  At least so far.   I was just saying the same thing to my wife yesterday when we were talking about the smoke-fest last fall.

12Z ECMWF is the first run to show another heavy rain event next weekend.   We will see if this solution gains traction.

The atmosphere below ~500mb will be fairly convective tomorrow. Given the afternoon timing of the front and some morning sunlight, perhaps a few areas could squeeze a thundershower out of its passage.

March kind of had a continentalish feel to it, at least in the valley. There were quite a few days that had lots of sun but stayed quite chilly simply because the 850s were so cold.

If offshore troughing sticks around through the end of the week, more of these shortwaves are going to ride right into our region. The ensemble means seem to be against that idea with the pattern progressing eastward and offshore ridging taking over although the EPS is slower in that progression than the GEFS.

Pretty uniform 1”-1.5” for the Willamette Valley. Let’s see how accurate it is for here. We will often get less than 50% of that here for some reason.

We’re due. Let’s get it over with and resume our normal programming.
