I’m half blind without the Langley radar but it looks like steadier precipitation is moving in now. It has mostly been a light drip so far.

Rains picking up a bit here now…0.12” so far today. 0.73” so far this month.

Only 62 at Salem today. Notice their record

low tomorrow is 26 from 1934. Can’t imagine that happening in our current climate.

Up to 0.32" on the day which makes this my rainiest day since mid-June. What a treat to get a storm like this in September.

Should be over an inch in the last 36 hours by midnight here. We only had 1.70” of rain from May 1st-August 31st…quite the turnaround finally.

I don't get Cal fans... their stadium is the most depressing place during games.    Its so lifeless and empty.   The Oakland As of college football.   I was thinking about Cal fans watching the game last night and then realized they don't even show up for home games so nobody is probably watching.   And now they are in the ACC?   That won't help.   😀

It's really an admin issue. They had sellouts of a 72k stadium 15 years ago

Anyway, today was just overcast with light sprinkles in the 60's.

Looks like this storm is turning into an overperformer for some areas. SEA approaching half an inch on the day and radar continuing to look juicy.

Explains the lack of Tim posts.

Assuming we continue with the phase-8 LP RMM tendency thru winter (which seems likely) the pattern evolution might play out something like this.

Western ridge signal doesn’t develop until the Xmas/New Years timeframe.

I'm pretty amused by the sudden model-wide consensus for an "Arctic outbreak" in around ten days. About as cold a trough as you'll see so early in the fall for western Canada and the PNW.

Agreed.... overperformance for sure.   SEA is at .82 now with lots of rain still to go.

0.89” here. As much as I hate the GFS, I have to admit it nailed this one. We should get up to an inch before clearing out later this morning.

Round 2 tomorrow night will be interesting, the Euro mean is well over an inch while the GEFS is barely over 0.5”. It’s a quick hitter so there would have to be some serious convection to hit those big numbers that the Euro is showing. Should be fun. Not to mention 40-50 mph wind gusts in the usual spots.

It’s been a wet early morning here in Tigard. It’s interesting to see how little rain has fallen at pdx compared to here this morning. This pattern is really aiming the firehose more on the westside of the valley. (Which was modeled)

The main rain band probably won't clear Seattle until mid-afternoon.    You should end up with well over an inch.
