September 2023 Weather in the PNW

Insane lightning output from that cell to the south. Strikes every 5 seconds or so and and starting to hear thunder now.

I'm in Fairview and I can see the flashes of lightning from the storms south to southwest of me. It's non-stop flashes. I drove down to West Linn and got these flashes.

Update... official high came in at 87 at SEA.

The 18Z ECMWF showed 81 this afternoon at SEA... off by 6 degrees in the first 6 hours of the run.

Look at those empty seats. Plenty of empty space at Autzen today too. As both teams move to the big ten expect their popularity to wane as wins become more scarce. 

Probably will be a net positive because of the money and higher fan interest. The opposite for Waazu and OSU.

Lightning is distant to the south and west here but still neat to see. Looks like these storms generally ended up about 25-50 miles west of where they were modeled. Great for Washington county!

Yea, Troutdale Airport observation said 90 or 91. It was very warm. I was surprised I didn't get any thunderstorms in my area but I did see a lot of lightning flashes from the storms south and west of me. It was amazing light show.

That line of storms was persistent. Went to bed around 10:30 and there was still thunder rolling in the distance. Great stuff.

Friday we got some rain (woohoo) and yesterday was a beautiful day with high of 83F and no smoke. Crossing fingers this is it and the temps just be to mid 80's from now on.

You got decent rain. Many other areas did not. Plenty of time for the wildfires to continue to be a problem and for new wildfires to start.

Mountains and foothills all got decent soaking rain.   Multiple times in many areas.   Not too worried about a forest fire in Seattle.

And I would love an alternating pattern with regular rain.
