October 2023 Weather in the PNW

Looks like SLE has hit 30 this morning, 28 at EUG and HIO, 25 at Corvallis. 

Further east Burns has been as low as 5 this morning (Record is 1 from 2019), Seneca 3, and Foster Flat checks in at -1.

The system later this week is looking extremely wet, especially in W. Washington. 

The system next weekend is focused a bit further south with 24 hour totals of 1-1.5" in the valleys of W. Oregon and 1-3" in the elevated terrain. 
 

Overall pretty typical November weather, and fairly mild.

We'll have to wait and see.  Many of these systems have been shown too wet in the models at this time frame.  That having been said this type of pattern is often followed by a good soaking.

I'm very surprised you didn't get a freeze there.  It still could tonight.

This is more like it. HIO got down to the 20s this morning. Still at freezing at 9am.

Crazy temperature spread this morning due to the east winds near the Gorge. It’s 44 in Camas and Troutdale but only 24 in Vernonia. 20 degree difference.

I'm waiting to see what the 12Z Euro looks like because something interesting could be happening next weekend. It's still to far out to say it will happen but there could be a chance of a windstorm. The Euro has been hinting at it but the GFS is showing an open low with not a lot of wind. Let's see if the Euro stick to its guns.

Nice morning out there, I was a little late for sunrise getting up to Tiger 3 but the views were great. A bit of fog over Lake Sammamish. The chilly air was confined to low elevations, felt like it was in the 40s up top.

Low temp: 40.8 as gusty east wind held the temp up east of I-205. Currently 50.5 with continued gusty east wind. The models have turned very wet as I thought we would see. The real question is if we see a wind storm as well.
