Funny what is considered tyranny to the left:

  • Mean tweets (Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will always hurt me)
  • Strong economy, low inflation, low gas prices (Probably because it makes the rich get richer)
  • Criminal justice reform (because the racist police must be defunded at all costs)
  • Opportunity zones (Equality of outcome is what they want, the American ideal of equality of opportunity, aka equal rights, is racist)
  • A secure southern border (Because protecting yourself from potential criminals is racist)
  • Places without mask or vaccine mandates (We're all going to die, otherwise)
  • Not being able to murder unborn babies (Much less tyrannical for pro-lifers to be arrested for simply praying in front of abortion clinics)
  • Allowing people to buy gas powered cars, use plastic straws, and eat all the meat they want (We're all going to die, otherwise)
  • Master bedrooms (You're triggering my PTSD about slavery)

And today 64% of Blacks support Biden as compared to 87% in 2020.

I feel a little odd saying it, but given the iron triangle that is the US/Israel alliance, I really don’t think Biden is doing all that badly.

Sure, I wish the whole incestuous, morally compromised relationship hadn't gotten to this point. The USA should have pushed Israel hard when they started building illegal settlements in the West Bank after occupying it in 1967. But there is the world as it actually exists, and the world that I wish might existed, and the two are not the same.

Announcing an intent to suspend certain forms of military aid should an offensive proceed is, given the above, a pretty unprecedented development, one which carries significant domestic risk for Biden. All the evidence, in other words, is consistent with Biden being upset with the disproportionate scale of Israel's retaliation, and trying to rein it in. My guess would be that the Biden Administration is being quite pushy and explicit via diplomatic back channels.

He’s definitely better than a fascist like Trump would be. Fascists think bigotry and wars of ethnic extermination are good things. Trump would back Bibi 100% and then some. You can even see the roots of such sentiment here, where some of the resident fascists (and yes, that is what they are, fascists) are now openly talking about bigotry against their enemies being justified. (And no, not all the righties here are fascists. Many are conservatives.)

I think every Hamas member deserves to be exterminated, and so do some of their supporters. One civilian yesterday said they would rather die than evacuate, after the warning was given about an attack from Israel. Does that make me a fascist?

It's a complicated situation since the Hamas terrorists like to mix in with the civilians, so it's hard to kill them without also killing civilians.

Some people even say the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the best solution to end WWII despite the large numbers of dead civilians. If not the war would have continued and in the long run there would be more civilian deaths. The war could have gone on many more years and more soldiers would have to suffer with depression and PTSD.

If they can completely destroy Hamas, there should no longer be a reason for the occupation of the land (which they should have gained anyway when the Muslims lost the Six Day War that they were the instigators of). Or is it more fake news from the right that Israel won the Six Day War?

Also it was both Israel and Egypt that started the blockade. Egypt is a mostly Arab country and 90% Muslim today.

(Stupid autocorrect on my phone does not recognize the word Hamas by the way)

I'm rather enjoying not slinging mud with people who have no interest in learning how the world really is.  I broke a longstanding rule of not arguing politics/religion online for quite a while now, and I think I will go back to it.  Before I adhere to it, I want to post one last resource for anyone actually wanting more objective knowledge about the mess Israel has found itself in with regards to Gaza, The West Bank, and the rest of The Middle East (Especially Iran):

If you have the discipline to actually watch the entire video (including the Q&A session), you will know more about this topic than 99.99% of Americans who would rather parrot garbage they hear from disreputable, agenda driven sources.  The entire video is pure brain food for those who wish to learn.

May peace and justice prevail.

The prime Minister of Israel is officially being charged(warrant) of war crimes. Maybe now we should stop supplying arms until he steps down?  Put his selfishness to the test - defense rockets for his country or power?

I haven't understood why the western world has taken the Hamas-run Health Ministry reported number of deaths as gospel. All these people going "omg 30,000 women and children have died, Israel bad" without mentioning that those numbers are provided by the very group that Israel is fighting, as if they don't have a vested interest in making those deaths appear as large as possible. It seems like a pretty easy point to make yet it always gets overlooked by the groups that want to make Israel appear inhumane.

To be certain, I'm not saying Israel's response has or has not been disproportionate or that a large number of deaths are women and children. I'm just saying maybe just maybe we don't take Hamas's word for it.

I'm not shy about being critical of Israel, but Hezbollah has been lobbing rockets at northern Israel for months, and now that the dry season is kicking in those rockets are starting to touch off brush fires. No country would put up with that sort of aggression indefinitely. Hezbollah is going to drag Lebanon into the conflict.

So Hamas set a trap for Israel, and Israel fell for it. I find it interesting that this came from CNN.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/11/middleeast/analysis-yahya-sinwar-hamas-ceasefire-talks-intl-latam/index.html

Hamas KNEW that Israel was going to respond, so they put out all civilians in the danger zone to pull the Genocide card against Israel, to make the world think that Israel is doing it.
