chescowxman
Near normal temperatures both today and tomorrow before a sharp turn to well below normal temps for the 1st week of September. Best chances for rain will be late tonight with the cold front with a lesser chance tomorrow with the secondary reinforcing front. chescowxman
As today is the last day of the final full summer month it appears like we will fail to see any of the Chester County stations touch the 100 degree mark for the summer for the 5th straight summer. Our last 100 degree day temperature was at Phoenixville (big surprise) on July 21, 2019. The next highest temperature that day was the 95.6 at West Bradford Twp. This is the longest stretch between a century reading since the 5 years between 1996 through 2000. The longest non-100 degree stretch was the 9 straight summers between 1902 through 1910. 3 Quote Climate Alarmists love to say"there is consensus on climate" While Climate Realists ask "is it true?" Stormy
I keep forgetting to post, but the heavy storms yesterday mostly missed us to the west, north, and east. We received only 0.48 inches of rain here, but at least it was a decent amount. This brings my total for August to 3.34 inches and 32.50 inches so far this year.

My yearly total is 33.21" which is top 40 of over 300 sites in Iowa. So a wet year, but I started the growing season 2024 in top 6 wettest. Interesting note is that OTM (ottumwa airport) continues way under my data as usual year after year, OTM has 27.97" which is significally less than your location and mine. In fact only one event all summer did OTM have slightly higher daily rain total than mby about 6 miles nnw. I still firmly believe that gage is inaccurate. I have 3 gages 2 of which are cocorahs and nws coop observer equipment.
Tom
Yesterday, we had some phenomenal cloud formations, colors, lightning along with a comfy cooler breeze coming down from the mountain monsoon storms. I was so thankful that I went down to the lake and took a walk to capture some beautiful videos and photos. These were some of the best monsoon pics/vids I've taken...hope you enjoy them! Niko
Went to Mackinac Island late Friday and came back today. Had a great time and will share pics. @jaster220when I was cruising on by Gaylord, I yelled out your name out the window, but I don't think you heard me. My wife was like who's name are you calling out??? I explained to her this cool guy from the Weather Forum that moved up north from Detroit and etc. Anyways, had some really great food there and the ferry boat ride was a little bumpy, but fun. There was only one company running boats and taking everyone from Macinaw City to Mackinaw Island, so the lines were quite long. We also took The Mackinaw bridge to Ignace. A lotta people there there, I mean it was very packed. Rode bikes there and etc. Car ride usually takes me 4hrs. Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day Weekend! 2 1 Quote Snowfall for Winter 2024 -25 for Metro Detroit Area

From afar, it looked like most of the MW and heartland had a good amount of rain that kept temps from sky rocketing. There were one or two periods that the Plains of NE/KS baked and hit 100F+.
