What kind of atmospheric setup is needed for a September south wind event and how would that  translate in the surface?

Deep trough offshore.

We had a hell of a windstorm at the end of August in 2015 so it can definitely happen in September. Everett peaked at 61 mph, SEA 46, Tacoma 54, and 450K lost power.

I was at Sun Lakes riding the big waves during that! Came home to no power the next day and quite the mess.
