Can't wait... no tornadoes or hurricanes for the next 4 years with Trump utilizing the power of the US government to control the weather.  😀

Apparently a tiktok trend aka the real media enemy

Quote

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) placed a Dorito chip in a podcaster’s mouth in an Instagram post in an attempt to reenact a viral video trend, drawing criticism from some Republicans.

The video shows Whitmer, who’s wearing a Harris-Walz hat, placing a Dorito into the mouth of Liz Plank, a podcaster and author, which follows a trend on social media of people feeding each other food, typically with the song “Dilemma” by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland in the background.

Tell us more about how hard your life is by something that literally has had no impact on your life whatsoever.

You are a waste of time.

What the f**k is wrong with you dude? You seriously think that is a valid point, the fact that I haven't been drafted means I and other men are completely unaffected by it and it isn't even worth bringing up? My dad's generation was the one fighting in the Vietnam war, you don't think the affect of that carries over? I shouldn't be worried that my youngest son is eligible for the draft and will be for about 5 more years, and not long after that my eldest grandson will too? Your point is extremely insensitive and invalid.

And for the bolded sentence (which I caught before you edited it and made it just slightly less rude), seriously what in the actual f**k is wrong with you? Imagine I was a suicidal person (which to clarify I am not by any means), do you realize how terrible of a thing that would've been to say to me? When you posted that you had no idea what my mental health situation was, you really shouldn't say s*** like that.

If you're going to be such an insensitive a-hole, maybe you should take a break from the forum. I don't think you're contributing to conversation by saying something as outrageous as that.

Yeah…I want women to have access to reproductive care (including abortions, with all the caveats there about trimesters etc). And wanting that doesn’t preclude recognizing there are some ways that men have it tough, too. Another thing I think is often overlooked is that the most dangerous industries tend to be dominated by men.

Completely fair opinion. I think anyone who supports the existence of the draft (which kamala and most others do) shouldn't really say something like "my body my choice" or "there are no laws that let the government can control men's bodies", because the existence of the draft makes those 2 points extremely hypocritical and invalid. If someone thinks the draft should be abolished (which I disagree with), then by all means they can say my body my choice, but as long as you support the draft you can't use that specific point in the abortion discussion, because you completely contradict yourself.

I don't think I've ever said my stance on abortion on here which I guess I should do now (I'll try to keep it PG). Personally I'm pro life considering how accessible protection is, just using a few of the available things will make it virtually impossible to become pregnant, and because I think abortion is immoral, I personally think we shouldn’t really continue to reward reckless people who didn't use available protection by letting them abort their fetuses because they were too lazy to avoid getting pregnant. If humans just magically became pregnant, I would have a different opinion. But they reality is you had to do the certain thing that causes pregnancy and let the certain thing happen without using available protection, which is just lazy and reckless. I'm fine with currently leaving it up to the states because it is pretty unrealistic that we could get a fair national abortion ban, but I'm sure in the not too far future we will look back at abortion with regret.

But thats just my 2 cents

I don’t want to get too into my views on abortion either, so I’ll just say that sexual assault is sadly all too common (as are medical complications from birth) and that is partly what informs my being pro choice. But I do believe we need to have clear guidelines around how many weeks is the cutoff in a given situation. I can see where you’re coming from about that type of hypocrisy.

And yeah I do think it’s odd to brush aside the draft as not affecting anyone, like you said there could be another draft tomorrow and then me and my brother would have to go to war. I took a class in college about veterans and later did some volunteering for a pro-peace nonprofit, so even though I think there are times war is necessary I take things like PTSD from war really seriously and don’t want anyone to have to fight unless it’s absolutely necessary…and that burden historically has fallen on men. That’s what I’ve been trying to get at in past discussions here, is that rigid gender roles are hard on everyone. For all the 1950s fantasy that some conservatives have about men and women, the reality is not so fun.

Remember the cantankerous get-off-my-my-lawn moment when Binden said “you ain’t black” if you don’t know whether to vote for him or Donald Trump?  Congratulations to Obama for arriving at that moment as well.

What desperation to be so obviously condescending with soft bigotry. Black men are deprived of reason, deprived of moral agency for breaking towards Trump. Obama’s reason is don’t think about it, because if you’re black, you just automatically vote team blue.

What bothers me most is we have veterans and seniors that are homeless that gave up their health and well being to serve the nation or work a lifetime that are in need of shelter, or other essentials and are living on the street while migrants live in NY hotels that would normally charge $350/day or run as gangs.
Some are criminals and harm innocents, run in gangs or have taken American lives.

I cannot vote for a failed border ‘czar’ that simply opened the flood gates then ran for the highest position in the land shouting, “Success”.

Thats not a responsible plan.  Yes, there are sincere migrants. However, there are criminal gangs, mentally ill, perhaps spies or saboteurs that are mingled in the masses that should have never crossed but been arrested.

No one wants another 911 or murder.
I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. Our Border Czar landed on a military tarmac in El Paso, greeted locals and called it a visit.
Meanwhile, our Border Patrol was understaffed, overwhelmed, and practically ignored.  An orderly procedure sank into chaos with thousands of unknowns crossing.

Now, we have a thriving child trafficking industry, sweatshops, prostitution, and misery with many who sought freedom but gain only misery and a 21st century hell. Some in hotels that in NYC, rent for $350/day and commit crimes.
That’s the product of our  Border Czar Kamala Harris. If you like her handiwork, by all means, vote for her. I think in time you’ll look back and wish you hadn’t passed her on her handiwork.
Me?  I want to know who’s really pulling the strings.
Welcome to the USA!🇺🇸

It’s worth highlighting. For all the screaming about how racist MAGA is, why are young black men especially leaving the Democrats? Latinos too.

Whether it’s because Harris is a woman or the absurd notion black = Democrat, both rob people of the moral agency to come to their own conclusion. And Obama has dived headlong into that. Pardon my language, but the guy is an out of touch prick. It doesn’t occur to him that for these young black men that perhaps their lives improved under Trump and regressed under Harris. It doesn’t compute, so Obama  insults them to try and win them back.

And yet black voters still overwhelmingly support Harris overall.

How about the out of touch prick Trump who says Jewish people must be one issue voters and have "their head examined" if they don't vote for him.   I would give him a little more leeway if Trump was actually Jewish.   But what Trump said was even more insulting.

And how are Republicans vs Democrats fairing with American Jews post-October 7?  More precisely, what’s the swing from left to right of American Jews vs right to left of the past year? That’s the underlying situation.

Democrats are increasingly Hamas-adjacent. I forget who said it, but a secular Jew said she went to bed October 6 a liberal and woke up the 7th a conservative. Many leftist Jews have been shocked to discover they’re no longer part of the intersectional coalition. Some have yet to make the connection. If they leave the Dems but remain nonaligned, great. Trump being Trump said Trump things. Not good. But many can look past Trump to understand the underlying situation of Jews no longer being welcomed by Democrats.  What Obama said is the underlying mentality of Democrats towards blacks.

I have literally no idea what you mean.   The wildly popular governor of PA is Jewish.   Kamala as repeatedly expressed support Israel.   Just because the Dems don't want human suffering and war means they hate Israel?

Are you referring to protesters?   They aren't waving Kamala flags.   They don't represent the entire Democrat party.   They are a tiny tiny percentage of people.

I just don't understand it.   There is no winning in the Middle East.   No one has said they don't support Israel.   It's just political BS.

I cannot find examples of them all right now, but I posted one about January 6 being worse than 9/11.

You have specifically posted stuff here before saying Trump will be like Hitler if he wins again.

You said you are terrified of the Republican party platform, which I posted a link to twice and asked you what specifically you hate about it and you refused to answer both times.

You also once posted an article about PragerU curriculum in Florida and how horrible that is.

Yet when I post actual examples of some of the public school curriculum today (e.g. BLM teaching anti-capitalism), you think I'm crazy and it's all just another conspiracy theory from the far right.

DEI trainings at some companies say America is fundamentally racist and it's just better hidden today than it was during slavery and Jim Crow.

NC: Tie

GA: Harris +2

First poll I've seen with Harris ahead in AZ.  That seems like an outlier as well.

Now hold on, you’re doing the same thing you just accused Obama of doing, lumping all people of a given group together. Like I’ve stated before, I’m Jewish and I support neither Hamas nor the Israeli government. It’s also absurd to say that Democrats are “Hamas-adjacent” when the current administration continues to pump weapons into the Israeli military, just as Trump would do.

Kamala could still very well win this election of course, but the "vibes" do seem to be changing a bit as we head down the stretch.  Dang, how are we only 25 days out from the election?

I was thinking that both candidates would want another debate if the polls were still close at this point, but that was only half right.  The more I thought about it, the more it makes sense for Trump to not do another debate.  This race has been remarkably stable compared to many other past races, but if anything, there is a slight trickle of momentum in Trump's direction lately.  A debate would be more likely to go Kamala's way and potentially upset the momentum that Trump seems to have.  So better to just leave things alone.

Yeah, I think it’s helping trump that he decided not to debate Harris again, and opted out of a 60 minute interview. I think if he keeps his head down and avoids saying crazy by even his standards statements he will probably win.

I keep hearing about lots of minority voters “abandoning the Democratic Party”. Theres a little bit of movement among Hispanic and African American voters…but those groups are still overwhelmingly in support of democrats no matter how you slice it. Even a small percentage of those votes going to Trump could make a big difference, however.

Yes.  That is already baked into the cake and has been for ages.  The point is Trump is still likely to pull better numbers from those groups than is normal.
