As an interesting aside there a handful of years here that are on point for the entire year, but there aren't many of them here. My number one pick from the 20th century would be 1949. That year was insanely perfect in my view. Very cold January with some snow and almost no rain, snowy February, nice spring with a lot of late frost including frost in many places on July 4th, beautiful September, but with a freakish freezing min on September 12 for a lot of places, a mid October Arctic blast that brought the coldest Octobers mins on record for some places, some incredible 70+ days in November, and a mixed December with two significant cold snaps accompanied by snow, and several quite windy days.
For years I've experienced I would take both 1984 and 1985. I had no idea at the time how good those years really were.
