I’ve had more than 10 times that just 15 miles away. That’s pretty wild.

I’ve had almost five times that 10 miles north. I still think there is something odd with the SEA station. It could be that personal stations read more than official stations. That combined with persistent bad luck with SEA being a dry outlier this entire year so far.

SEA is the premier station around here so I'm sure the gauge is accurate.  Shadowing.

I finally managed to break the shadow curse today and it is insane.  Over an inch with this event now.  Down to 54 degrees.

That spot in the eastern part of Nino 3 is REALLY cold.  I think it will end up moderate at the strongest given the very late start.

Great winters after strong El Niños, usually are weak Nina’s. Let’s hope it doesn’t get too strong or that it’s a little late in the formation of it.

Or... You could just make sure my IP address when I am on here using my home internet is not being throttled, cuz I know that is a thing and all.  Which would make sense based off the quagmire the other night and the other deleted reply you made to me involved in it.

Seems like a certain party some are involved with. No pun intended.

I assume Sea-Tac’s gauge is a tipping bucket with wind shields, so it should track 10-20% higher than an unshielded gauge. Who knows what the calibration schedule is though…those things are known to drift. Or get debris in them.

In any event, I’m at 0.16” here about 9 miles north of the airport.

I get 10 dollars a day from ActBlue for every voice I silence. Anyway, you’ve fought valiantly and have forced my hand, so the weighty chains of neomarxist censorship have been lifted from you and your Comcast connection.

That is one gorgeous trough on the 6z GFS.  Big time below normal temps if that actually happens.

Conflicting reports…Tim says leave my boat in longer as sun and warmth is coming…And Jim is saying the boating (I don’t like 50’s and boating) season is over…

There will probably be some nice days still with highs in the 60s and 70s.

Low of 52 this morning with 0.01” of rain. Looks like that might be all the rain we get for a couple more days. It also looks like this month should get close to or hit average rainfall here. Was expecting September to be warmer and drier relative to average but doesn’t look that way.

I ended up with 1.24" from the entire system.  Looked like it was going to be a big bust for a while though.  I'm pretty impressed with it being 54 at 10am this early in the season.

ECMWF shows a lot of clearing tonight.  Could be a chilly morning tomorrow.  Summer ended pretty early this year.

Bank on it. Don’t think I’ve seen an October go by without ’em. And half of September is yet to go!

It's called clown range for a reason.

Yesterday’s mini squall line was pretty cool. Some dramatic clouds, decent gusts of wind and then sudden heavy rain. Also I did hear that one thunder boom so it was technically my third thunderstorm of the summer!

It helps that I saw it on Powell Butte, which must be the best place in Portland to watch incoming storms.
