Got work tonight and my boys are over this weekend. Should be nice weather.

Congrats to her!  I managed to snag a 15% bump up on base.  Bigger bonus structure too, but no RSUs like last gig.  can't complain though, out of work for a total of 11 weeks, not bad in this tech market

The worm I'm worried about is when we change into a long running +PDO state.  Not sure what that is going to look like at this point.  We still have a while before that will happen, although it could be in the next few years.

I’m been thinking we’re going to get a front loaded cold season. Will probably be more blocky than usual. November and December will be in play for Arctic Blasts but October could also be colder than normal.

The shape of that below normal anomaly field is a big deal.  That look is more favorable for snow in WA because it suggests a good battle line between cold air and Pacific moisture tracking just south of the cold air.  Situations where the cold anoms penetrate well south are often not as favorable for snow.

That has snow/ice written all over it for PDX Metro with the winter battle zone over the area. Better chances for snow further North. It’s all about being in the Goldilocks zone though. Too cold usually means too dry.

Came home early to start phase 1 of the fall yard trim up. Will probably be at least 3 phases so I have 2 to go! Also had to mow again.
14 yards of wood-chip mulch being delivered tomorrow for the dog yard to cut down on the winter mud…Because it’s coming!

It’s been really really nice IMO overall I’ve enjoyed this month. I’m just ready for us to start getting some real fall storm trains rolling. We’ve definitely shifted into more cooler fall weather with occasional rains but I’m ready for some real stormy weather.

I concur. Senses say early Nov snow for 500' or higher environs then a region wide event by Turkey 🦃 🦃 🦃 Day. Summer just hits the brakes so hard this year and that gets us headed in the proper direction. Was really hopium for another heatwave , but as it gets closer the prognosis gets less and less likely. Now let's just focus on cold and snow ❄️ 🌨️

Does anyone know the average date where somewhere like Wenatchee or Ellensburg (I.e. East side cold pool) develops and East of the Cascades becomes colder than West of it?

Did you enjoy Lost Lake? Good trout there 😃

He made the finals for the Oregon bowling association. I believe he snagged the final spot in the finals at the semis. He’s actually a really good bowler and this is basically his first season back in competitive bowling in almost two decades.

I used to LOVE bowling.  I used to go to the local alley and do at least 4 games once a week.  I think my record was like 7 with the rent a lane option they had.
