EPS looks chilly as well! I was not expecting this to show up so soon. Not perfect but better than what was shown before.

I forgot about that one! My drainage ditch was nearly running full that afternoon, then a few inches of snow a few hours later!

We avoided a lot of the rain with that up here as it quickly changed to snow in the early morning hours. About 9-10” here

Our first big rainfall of the season already caused a landslide at I-5 near Bellingham shutting down the freeway. I feel like this shouldn’t have happened and considering how dry it’s been, I think more geotechnical experts needs to be out there as we ramp up our rainy season.

To be fair, sounds like some of the heaviest rain on record for that area.

Did the Big AR last weekend cutoff north of Bellingham?  Even the drier areas of Metro Vancouver had 5-6” of rain in advance of that deluge last night.

Pretty sure Bellingham area saw at least 3-4" with that. Unfortunately BLI is missing data from those days. Blaine got about 4.5".

Whatcom County got hit moderately hard a week ago from the AR that drenched Vancouver. So, while the fall hasn't been very wet overall, the soil up around the border was already pretty saturated heading into last night's rain.

We know these maps skew dry due to missing data, but this captures where the AR cutoff was pretty well.

Yep. Excluding the peninsula, the cutoff was basically the Chuckanuts. (That sounds admittedly a bit odd out of context).

As for Oregon, Roseburg is probably our worst non-coastal lowland microclimate. Hood River probably the best.

Isn't Medford even worse than Roseburg?

Medford’s not really “lowland”, it’s at 1300’. It also gets colder than Roseburg in the winter, although gets quite a bit less precip/moisture as well.

Much hotter summers than even Roseburg.

Their elevation gives them a little bit of an advantage for nickel/dime type snow events though.

They had a huge rain event up there about a week ago as well.

I have been kind of liking the feel of late November this year. 😎

Maybe one of the coldest!  November 1985 was pretty off the charts.

Yeah, Medford's long term snowfall average is actually a bit higher than PDX.

That would be impressive.  The bar is very high for coldest November though.  1896, 1955, and 1985 were insanely cold.  It appears the models are seeing some possibilities today.

You’re less than a mile away from me. Did you hear the thunder? There’s probably some flooded streets at this point.
