Missed it. Too busy watching football I guess.

You might still be able to see it, or tomorrow night it’ll be out again a bit earlier in the evening if there’s no clouds to the west. It was really cool.  Binoculars help to see it but I could see it with the naked eye as well.

Yeah I looked when I saw your post but not seeing anything. Will try to catch it tomorrow evening.

It’s basically due West, just slightly south of west. It should be visible tomorrow night dropping down across the horizon from 7-830pm. If you got a pair of binoculars that’ll help a lot.

He was banned through a group decision based on repetitive harassment of several members and general anger.

Afaik it wasn't anything specific, but rather he just got even meaner and more negative than he already was, and simply couldn't turn it off. Instead of his usual 50/50 mix of bullying and normal contributions, he pretty much just went 100% doo doo head all the time, and eventually this place had enough of it.

It's a shame because when he wasn't taking out his own insecurities on internet strangers for no apparent reason, I enjoyed some of his contributions. I genuinely believe he might have been going through a rough patch in his personal life, which was causing him to lash out on here. Truly hope he's doing better now.

It's very possible that everything we think we know will be totally wrong in the long run.  We only have records of such a tiny portion of what is within the normal climate envelope over the past million years.  That is why I'm incredulous when people are wringing their hands over a 1 inch increase in sea level.

but we have Antarctic ice cores that tell us we haven't had this much carbon in the atmosphere in a LONG time

My god these extended ensemble updates are making me absolutely delusional. It's hard not to get a little excited about the trend here. Looks like some interesting weather coming up.  Chilly no matter how you slice it.  Maybe downright cold later in the month.
