I think 1993/94 is likely to be a closer match than 1992/93, though not sure I’d weight either of them heavily in analog pools (for different reasons, respectively).

This is  reminding me of 1993-94, but without the Arctic outbreak of November 1993.

Warm drizzle below 8'k is a pretty horrendous weather condition during the winter. I'd rather it just be cloudy and warm.

Whistler forecast calling for rain and a 9,500 foot snow level late next week. Not out of the question Camp Muir at 10,000 feet sees raindrops. That's pretty absurd for December.

An unmitigated disaster. Hopefully Mother Nature repays us in a big way, but the luck we’ve had as of late may have run out.

I would have guessed that image was from September if it didn't have a December date at the top.

But...that happening with a weak Nina is a pretty good argument for a big flip at some point.  We've seen this before and it usually ends well in this ENSO state.

Fortunately it doesn't look like there should be too much precip with freezing levels that high. An inch or two of rain with high snow levels is not going to do much damage (what the Euro shows) and while the GFS shows a bit more warm rain, it also buries the peaks in snow later in the run. I'd be more worried if it looked like an atmospheric river with those snow levels.

GFS returns us to a much more active pattern in the long range.

Currently 29 with dense fog. An astonishing 31/27 day yesterday. Really solid for November.

Pro tip: If you are concerned about how long your mother in law left the food out on Thanksgiving, do not consume massive amounts of leftovers the following day. :(

There are some of us here that revel in those hot, sunny days. I enjoy the full range of weather in its time.

I went to bed early, and I see the Night Shift 6z GFS/GEFS was improved. "La Nina strikes back" is what I'd call this movie. The ensembles were a step closer to being pretty good.

My kids chose Gremlins for movie night tonight. Been probably 20+ yrs since I last saw it. Phoebe Cates nearly ruined christmas for my kids as she relived how her dad died dressed as Santa.

Also, that movie was rated PG. How in the hell is that the rating? The 80s let so many movies get away with a PG rating.

Funny enough, Gremlins and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom were actually the reasons for the PG-13 rating. The first PG-13 movie was Red Dawn and came out two months later.

38 here this morning, and that is our overnight low.

Such a weird setup with places north and south of us in the low-mid 30s. Usually we are colder.

Not sure if I'm team "active weather with moderate temps" or team "death ridge with fake cold". Leaning towards active weather.

Dude I love trivia like this. I also showed my son Temple of Doom earlier this year and the face melting scene was so over the top.

We’ve had a fair amount of sun here, which is always welcome this time of year. But from a weather enthusiast perspective it’s been pretty boring.
