63/35 at OLM yesterday. Decent for fake spring.

Looks like nothing major/organized this week, but next weekend appears very wet with a couple of strong lows approaching.  At least there's something to keep an eye on down the line.

12Z ECMWF is basically dry on Thursday and Friday as the AR gathers strength offshore... then next weekend is very wet with the AR parked right over western WA.

And then it gets pretty chilly... cold onshore flow brings some snow.    Of course daytime highs are still in the 40s on the days with snow but could get interesting during the non daylight hours.

Not bad way to start March.   Last 4 days in North Bend have been 61, 71, 65, and 68.

Hopefully we can get into another warm spell later in March.    Going to be a long wait.

My Dad has some many of those. They never did well here though, maybe just too much shade.

Looks like some bouts of snow mid-month up here.

18Z GFS keeps the moisture plume to the west from Thursday all the way through next weekend.    Probably won't happen but I remember a few days ago the GFS was showing nice weather today with the front stalling to the west while the ECMWF and GEM were very wet for today.    So maybe a small chance the GFS is right.

This was a 777. I didn't see a shower, though I didn't explore much. There were showers in the massive Emirates lounge. It was quite decked out. Fully reclining seats to sleep flat, free super comfortable Emirates pyjama's/kit, exceptional food and drinks menu. Would recommend it for anyone who gets the chance, much better than other business class flights I've tried so far. Maybe comparable to Singapore Airlines, but it's hard assess because I only did a short haul on that (oddly enough on a 787).

I flew Turkish economy for my last couple trips to the Caucasus and Central Asia. The food in economy was pretty good, so-so for the rest of the experience. I've heard their business class is also really good and can be more "affordable" than other airlines. Istanbul Airport is massive. It took a really long time to get between gates.

The Turkish Airways free stopover tour is quite good if you end up with a long stopover there.

I liked Kuwait in an odd way. Virtually no tourism industry to speak of, just a handful of business travelers. Still, it's safe and fun to walk around in the city core. Get the Talabat app and you can order anything to your hotel. Oman was my favorite place on this trip and I'd recommend it if you haven't been before.
