With a heavy wind blowing, I'm at 50F.. It feels colder out than many Winter days lately. Crazy for June1

Had 3 thunderstorms today, 3rd one was severe warned and produced a gust to 44mph here at the Cabin John house (have family visiting so we’re back in MD until June 21st). I’m catching up to you. 😈

The 44mph probably would have been higher had it not been for fully foliated trees. Our 30th floor apartment in VA gusted to 62mph.

I knew that it's been cold the last few days and that the storms would die west of here.. that's what happened. Sometimes the SPC is way off with their watches in the cold sector, lack of sunheating and lower temps should not warrant a tornado watch on days like today.  Lots of rain in the Spring, I like Summer lightning storms better.

Cold upper level temps/steep lapse rates are what juiced today’s storms. My area does particularly well with these deep trough/NW flow setups so maybe I’m biased, but I’ll take this over sitting under a ridge hoping the cap breaks at the last possible second which seems to fail almost every time nowadays.

I think we miss out on 90 burgers again. The worm seems to have turned. Gone are the days of heat ramping up down the stretch. Anyways those prograding pacific highs seem like to fall apart quite easily.

Support is growing for a solid heatwave June 8-10. Highs 85-95 appear likely atm

Another beautiful day of Yellowstone fishing here.  Love the easy access to so many rivers around here.  Caught a baby brown trout as well as a bigger fish (some sort of cutthroat, I think) that wiggled off my line just as I put my net in to catch it.
