Hey @iFred

I was wondering if there’s any plan to enable Progressive Web App (PWA) support. This would allow users to add the forum to their device’s Home Screen for easier access, similar to a native app.

Ok bet thanks. I only asked because I am looking at incorporating it into something I was building.

A week ago the GFS was insisting the system yesterday was going to carve out a huge trough parked over the west coast for days... but that won't be happening and instead the pattern remains quite progressive.    It will probably trend the same way for next weekend as well.   The 12Z GEM keeps things progressive and builds another ridge.

gem-all-namer-z500_anom-9427200.png

The 12z GEM (and majority of guidance in general) will fail to properly retrograde the ridge until it is closer in time, which results in an underestimation of the meridional extent of the W-Canada troughing after ~ 6/10.

Maybe with the timing difference it might resemble the troughing in late June 2021. We’ll see.

Yeah, and maybe a slight timing difference last winter would’ve resembled January 1950. 🥱

Okay. The first half of June won’t be anything like 2008 in the PNW?  Feels pretty likely we are running several degrees above normal by mid month.

I’m not convinced the first half will be exceptionally warm in the WA/BC lowlands. Even a minor westward adjustment in that ridge axis will significantly increase the low level onshore component.

Oregon is significantly more likely to run large positive departures in this pattern. Either way, the dryness looks like the larger anomaly IMO.

We'll be damned lucky to get any measurable precipitation this month. Fully expecting departures in the +3 to +4 range as well.

Well, your call for Portland area to see less than .25" in May busted. Here comes round 2!

O the snow, the beautiful snow!
Filling the sky and the earth below!
Over the house-tops, over the street,
Over the heads of the people you meet,
Dancing, Flirting, Skimming along.
Beautiful snow! it can do nothing wrong.

12z Euro was abject trash.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. What’s treasure in June is trash in December.

Less than an inch of rain at MFR, RBG, EUG, SLE, HIO, SPB, OLM, and CLM. Two of those are in the Portland area. Seems like the call for a very dry May worked out well.

Fun day of boating on St Croix river with my wife's sister and her family.   Temp has been low 80s all day but sun filtered by smoke.   People don't seem mind the smoke as the river was packed.  The St Croix and Lake Minnetonka are where you see huge boats and yachts in the Twin Cities area.   Similar to Lake Washington in Seattle.   I am sure some people on here would describe a day like this in WA and OR as hell on earth.

I was surprised at the number of big expensive boats we saw in Bellingham. Bellingham is nice but kind of out of the way for the big expensive boat crowd.

It isn’t really AI, but they use a lot of really cool weather and grid data to give optimal timing for cooling.

I'd be curious how many are owned by Canadians or Seattle-ites who could not find mooring down there.  As it is, from what I have heard its difficult to find mooring up here.

Meh. Those people don’t know what fancy pants luxury boats are…Now my boat…It’s the Cat’s Meow! 31 year old Sea Ray luxury right there! I mean check out that carpet! Looks extra fancy when I’m towing it with my 20 year old Cadillac Escalade! And all of it purchased for under $20k combined!

Wide swaths of the boreal forest from NE BC to NW Ontario.

Already 300,000 acres burned in BC.  Probably much more as you head east.
