Had some showers this morning and still under a very stubborn marine layer. Euro is going to bust way too high here today. We’ll be the last area around the Sound to clear out.

Looking at the Satellite you can see what looks to be a fire blowing up just east of Mt Rainier. Or at least an existing fire that is feeding developing clouds.

Forcing was too weak... rats. Still an outside chance something midlevel pops up tonight but I'm not giving those odds more than a 15% value

Yeah, overall looking like September will be smoky moving forward on sat imagery. Lame.

Wednesday into Thursday presents the next potential for thunderstorms. It looks similar to early August and last week, with a ridge breakdown involving an upper level disturbance riding the southerlies occurring simultaneously alongside a transition to progressive flow. Will be interesting... as usual the GFS seems the warmest and the most bullish. Fundamentally it's a borderline setup with decent CAPE. More later, if models stay adamant on this potential

One advantage of knowing you live at the centre of an anti-thunderstorm force field is that you never get disappointed when those model CAPE maps fail to pan out.

We need to install a bunch of humidifiers on the spine of the Goat Rocks wilderness so we always have a midlevel moist layer

Looks like the LR teases fall-like weather starting mid-Sept. This seems to coincide with NOAA’s outlook. Wouldn’t hurt to try to take advantage of possibly 2-3 weeks of summer left.

As long as there’s not a 2022 replay in which it takes until late October for the rains of autumn to commence.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Costco in Clarkston, WA said yesterday that they expect to sell their winter line in about two weeks. I want to buy my son a snow jacket. Of course the next few days will be 100F here lol.

The dead fire season sure seems to be getting active.

Dead for western WA.   The Bear Gulch fire has been pretty quiet.   The problem is just a general area of smoke spread out across most of western US from interior fires... and related to a lack of systems to push it east.   A ULL offshore is not good for us because it pulls the smoke into western WA.

It's being pulled in from places like CA and Idaho and Wyoming.

Went into the Bend Costco last week and they had all their winter clothes out already.

After last year's 4th hottest summer on record nationally, I'm guessing 2025 ended up somewhere in the 15th to 20th range.

O the snow, the beautiful snow!
Filling the sky and the earth below!
Over the house-tops, over the street,
Over the heads of the people you meet,
Dancing, Flirting, Skimming along.
Beautiful snow! it can do nothing wrong.

What about ghosts and skeletons?

BUILD THE 8000 FT WALL ALONG THE WEST COAST. STOP THE MARINE LAYER INVASION.
