Same state, but 2 different climates. Bend has a cold-semi arid climate that sees snow regularly and a high diurnal range for much of the year. They see cold winters and warm summers with lots of sunshine. Astoria on the other hand is an oceanic climate with lots of rain and mild temps.

I’d prefer to live in Astoria. More exciting weather with stronger windstorms and stormy weather. And cant beat living closer to the Oregon Coast and the beautiful mouth of the Columbia River.
