NWbyNW Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Socked in with fog. It is masking most of the noise and you can't see ANY fireworks, lol. It is the quietest, least eventful fireworks event around me in all the years I've lived here. It's pretty much quiet and no one is doing anything for the most part. Usually I can hear the reservation exploding, but I do not see it or hear it at all this year! That fog is really blocking it all out. Happy New Years! 2 Quote

SeattleSmokeLayerFan Posted January 1 Posted January 1 The weather apps (Weather Channel) seem to already be picking up on fog and inversion cold by mid Jan. Kind of impressive, I've never seen them do that at that range. Hopefully a clean retrogression shortly after. 5 Quote

Everleigh Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Happy New Year! Currently 30.7* and I see that moisture on the radar, but nothing is falling. Maybe it'll squeeze out a few flakes before it warms up too much...... 1 Quote

Maybe it'll squeeze out a few flakes before it warms up too much...... Current 925mb temp is +10C... it would have to be freezing rain. Snow is impossible when its that warm aloft. Quite an inversion over parts of western WA. Its 45 in NB this morning. 1 Quote *
Timmy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Gonna be driving back tomorrow morning from McCall Idaho through the gorge. Hopefully zr isn’t too bad, any insights are appreciated Quote
TT-SEA Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Latest ECMWF not too bullish for the wind event on Sunday... although we can probably throw it out because Randy is in the area of lightest wind and that never happens. 3 1 Quote *

There is no hourly map for ZR on WB but this all comes before 4 a.m. tomorrow and then the totals stop rising in the Gorge. But might still be a mess during the morning hours. 1 Quote *

Omegaraptor Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Happy New Year all. December 2025 finished at PDX with an average temp of 47.4F, breaking December 1950's airport-era record by a full degree. 1917 is still king going back to the pre-airport era, though. January 1953 is the only warmest month on record from the 20th century still standing in the airport era. 7 out of 12 have now been set in the 2020s, with the other 4 being set in 2015 or 2016. 1 Quote
