I never thought January 2024 was going to happen until it did. You can go back and look, I wasn’t buying it for a second. To be fair, the cold air barely made it to about Eugene, so it wasn’t far from being a total bust. Our semi penetrating arctic air masses have been kind of lame, but that one did give SLE its coldest January high since 1950, so no complaints.

Oh. Yeah good times. Average month overall. Epic blowtorch in there too. Go figure. We had a massive snow event the end of February, first few days of March. That was the highlight of that winter here.

I’m at 0, haven’t even seen a flake, and I average pretty much the same as you do… February and March are our two snowiest months though. Whatever they dying trough is next week could give us something if it holds.

It's getting ridiculously dumb.  I'd be happy with mountain snow. Lowland snow i guess is possible but we've been chasing that for 6 weeks with the same pattern basically.  Alaska is getting a once in 100 year winter.

Took a little different route down to Verrado, Arizona from Vegas through Laughlin. With all the rain that fell the day before this rolling hills of a highway became quite challenging !!  Especially when 18 wheelers were coming towards me as they did not slow down!! You can imagine the splash from their rigs in these washes! Yikes

Running the loop it tries a retrograde merger around day 10-12 but gets nuked by a cutoff south of the Aleutian’s.

Pretty meh the next week or so but actually a decent shot of mountain snow next week. Could be worse. I still am holding onto hope for something in the next 6 weeks. 

 Even something similar to what we had last February would be well received I’m sure. I think just about everyone had atleast a couple inches of snow at some point in the first half last year.

I don’t have access to all the wind maps but just looking at the track it doesn’t look conducive to anything really. Probably garden variety at best.
