An exception is if some kind of record is in play. I wanted 2013-14 to go on as long as possible just to see where I would end up in terms of total snowfall. And it ended up being a number that I had never personally experienced. 2 Quote

MMike Posted February 2 Posted February 2 KC just enjoyed (if you like cold and snow) a beautiful winter stretch with very cold temps and some snow. We had 16 out of the last 18 days below average on temps (many days way below average) and around 4-7 inches of snow around KC. Ponds and lakes are frozen, matter of fact, I saw some folks ice fishing over the weekend. Ice must be thick enough. Still have a pretty good snow pack but temps this week should knock out most of it. Hoping for a few more good chances of snow before we head into spring. I wish I would've kept more NWS snow maps from the Big Dogs I got in Marshall. Not sure why I failed to do so tbh? Looks like Harrison did well with GHD-1 too: I lived in Chicago for this one. By far my best snowstorm experience. Not just the amount of snow. But the ferocity of the storm. I still have some video of it somewhere. I remember the period between 9 and 10 pm being the most intense. The next morning. Notice the swing is he background is touching the snow. 3 2 1 Quote Never Trust the NAM

Feb 8-9th. 27" in 24 hours not too far to my east, wild! https://www.weather.gov/tsa/weather-event_2011feb9 Man that's a brutal one for Tulsa. 5.7" there with 2+ feet not too far away. 2 Quote
mlgamer Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I've always lived somewhere in northeast Kansas and have never seen a 20"+ snowfall and frankly don't ever expect to. It just doesn't do that here. I think my personal best is 15". 1 Quote 25-26 seasonal snow total: 12.0" (as of 4/1/26) ****ALERT*** 26-27 snow forecast (posted 3/1/26): Oct: 0.0, Nov: 2.0, Dec 2.0, Jan: 7.0, Feb: 3.0, Mar: 0.0. That's almost as good. Two storms to enjoy. Not sure if Topeka got hit as hard. 1 Quote Never Trust the NAM

MBY yard has had several 14" ones while living in either Topeka or KCK and even a 12" storm while in Manhattan. The 15" one I remember was in January 1993 here in Topeka. The official total was like 17.1". 2 Quote 25-26 seasonal snow total: 12.0" (as of 4/1/26) ****ALERT*** 26-27 snow forecast (posted 3/1/26): Oct: 0.0, Nov: 2.0, Dec 2.0, Jan: 7.0, Feb: 3.0, Mar: 0.0. tStacsh Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Might need to start tracking severe weather soon if these cutters end up being a theme mid-month. 1 Quote

I doubt I ever see anything like it again. 15 hours ago, Black Hole said: That was the biggest of all time for Tulsa with 14.1" from one storm. Some spots not too far away were over 20" I think. There was another big one not long after. I went back and checked and found that Topeka set a daily record snowfall of 9.1" on Feb 1, 2011. When we get 9" it just means someone else got way more... 3 1 Quote 25-26 seasonal snow total: 12.0" (as of 4/1/26) ****ALERT*** 26-27 snow forecast (posted 3/1/26): Oct: 0.0, Nov: 2.0, Dec 2.0, Jan: 7.0, Feb: 3.0, Mar: 0.0. Unfortunately in our area while most of the snow could be gone the parking lot snow piles and the snow along the side of the roads stick around for ever. And the cold last well into April and no thunderstorms. 1 Quote
