The Oregon AMS will be hosting on Monday, February 23, at OMSI the 30th anniversary look back at the "Historic Floods of February 1996."
We are excited to partner with several amazing groups that will have informational tables set up outside the Empirical Theater.
We will also have several fantastic speakers covering the whole event, start to finish. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. It is FREE to attend.
In keeping with our OMSI tradition, we will be raffling off some cool prizes.
Looks like another 9 or 10 days of light rain and drizzle with only a few breaks as the main moisture plume slips south or lifts north briefly at times. This crap is how western WA really earns its gloomy reputation. Just a horrible pattern with a tight 500mb contour over WA between cold to the north and warm to the south. Hope we get rewarded for this mess later in the month. I don't mind rainy periods in March but this is truly the worst way to get to rain.
