How did you end up in Rhode Island? My wife’s friend lives in Fall River, MA, so we drove through and also stayed at a hotel in WOONSOCKET while visiting them.

Definitely a big storm here. Some photos from around the area last week, including Brown.

My call from early Feb of no more freezes at PDX was pretty darn close. Just one 32F low on the 20th. And that really should have been a sub 30F low based on most guidance of if I recall.

They hit 32 on Friday morning as well (the 27th).

My son just drove from Seattle to Vancouver BC to pay $200 CAD to the person who stole his phone from him when he set in on the table at a restaurant when he was up there 3 weeks ago.   That is reverse Canadian niceness.   But it was locked and basically worthless to this person so they decided to accept a ransom payment.    Now my son can sell it for $800.

he's a regular James Bond!

We found the same thing to be true on our cruise.  No one would steal anything in that environment.  My wife lost her phone during the sail away party and all the champagne and I had no doubt it would be at guest services unless she had somehow knocked it overboard.   And it was there.   Of course you have nowhere to run there... but I think there is some kind of bond among the people on a cruise where everyone is looking out for each other.   Same thing in ports when you are looking for people with matching wrist bands among the chaos.

I mean sure, but I think the bigger reason for lack of theft on a cruise would just be the type of people that you’re surrounding yourself with.  I doubt the guy that stole your kids phone, or my phone, were looking to score a quick 200 bucks to put towards their next Caribbean cruise.

I am assuming drug money was the goal in both cases.  As you said... there are unscrupulous people everywhere.

I mean this in the nicest of ways… but your son just rewarded a POS with $200 for stealing a phone that wasn’t theirs, and somehow that’s a win for your son…? Pretty a** backwards way of dealing with a thief if you ask me

My son gained $600 by going up there yesterday.   That was his motivation.
