Hmmmm... those might be two completely different things. Because the ECMWF was a couple degrees off with temps in a marginal event is completely unrelated to its track record in the mid and long range. Interestingly north Seattle and places north did have 36 hours of temps in the mid to upper 30s. It was a narrow band where precip was heavy enough to make the difference.
Been in New York where it's been super warm. Record high at Central Park of 90 on Wednesday, their 5th earliest 90+ day ever after the earliest 80+ day last month. They are +6 on the month now.
