What’s the point of using a cold pool definition that almost never touches CONUS?

Because it’s the portion of the cold pool dynamically integrated with TPVs and mobile polar high production, which is the source of all extreme upper level cold air masses.

Time for a major ECMWF cave so things can start getting excited in here for once.

Could be the most epic comeback since the second Seahawks/Rams game!

I heard a boom/thud but thought it was just my kid tossing her book on the floor from her bunk bed upstairs like she usually does.

Thank God I still have some survival supplies left after that crazy winter.  Screw you losers who don't believe in preparation.  This one will be your downfall!

Grow your hair and take things less seriously. Seriously.

Given how the models have performed this season, it’s going to take until snow starts falling for me to be on board.

Raining, based on a distant eye test looking outside, I'm guessing we have about a fourth or a fifth of an inch. Will check after I take my son to school.

Finding the size of the TPV is not the point of Jon’s analysis. There are plenty of other people looking at the TPV with more appropriate metrics.
