Ended up with a foot of heavy, wet snow!

Sadly it will all be melted exactly by April 2nd, 2026 at 12:00am. Not a single trace will remain.

Meanwhile down here, it's still 73 degrees! Quite the difference. Lucky for those who live north of Seattle.

In the long term, our favorable -PDO regime is coming to a close..could be several decades until we return.

This vacillation in the IPWP/PMM/PDO is intradecadal. This positive stretch likely lasts ~ 5 years, give or take a year.

The longer term/multidecadal elements of variability are driven by other factors/modes of interference.

Storm total of 1.05" here is close to QPF and right in line with other stations in the area.

Someday I'll get used to the pattern where initial fronts dry up on arrival and vigorous post-frontal showers make up for it, but it didn't happen this time -- I freaked out right on schedule.

Even if it doesn't rain again in April (a possibility given the current state of the models), it's already safe from being top-tier dry. Water year total of 25" is still low, but there have been lower ones.

Yeah, good and badly needed storm for OR. Mountains above 4000' got a good dumping.

Weekend trending a bit warmer but looks pretty cloudy. Might actually be nice weather!

Hopefully just thin high clouds like what the new RGEM shows for Saturday and Sunday...

Yeah, we're definitely at least a couple weeks ahead of schedule here. Probably still a week or two out from full green up, though. Depending on precip.

My wife is in Boston now and she says it's miserable.  She is excited to get back to NB where we will be pushing 70 and sunny by Sunday!

Was 87°F yesterday. Woke up this AM and we were imbedded in the cloud deck up here on the 29th floor and the air smelled like the ocean.

Tomorrow we’re back in the 80s again so I’ll happily take this reprieve. It’s actually soothing.

Easter Sunday will be a mess. How will the kids be able to hunt for Easter eggs with the sun blasting at them? They'll get tired and start whining. 60 degrees and partly cloudy would have been better.

They would whine faster if it were cold and cloudy.

NWS will be putting out an extreme weather warning and recommending that... egg hunting in a dark cave if possible or if a cave is not handy then parents should be constantly dousing their kids with ice cold water using a hose so they don't overheat and drop dead when its 65 degrees and sunny on Sunday.   Scary times and prayers are needed.

There are a handful of Strong El Nino's. There are more comparisons for PHX hot vs cold. You must have been foaming at the mouth waiting for me to post something analog related lol

You are constantly posting stuff that involves a very limited number of analogs. There have been around 10 strong El Ninos since 1950.
