85 with a patio umbrella is just fine.  Way better than sitting inside a hot house.

That's why I set up outdoor seating... But nobody wanted to sit outside still. Anyways, I'm outside under the umbrella now. Everyone else left.

Also anothe downside of heat. Flies and ants. They get in your car and zip into your house whenever you open the door.

Not as bad as the East Coast though. It's an infestation there.

Yeah medium rare is kinda gross... I like medium. Medium well and well done aren't bad depending on the kind of steak.

But anyways the point is..... We don't want to overcook our food and our skin.

You live in a different western Washington than me.  It JUST started to get mildly warm and you are melting down.

Also there are things you can buy on Amazon that can deal with those pests.

Fruit flies are my nemesis.

Yeah. I don’t have data to support it but I think late April through June has been our largest climate shift post-2015 as far as sensible weather. It used to be a nice well-earned surprise to score a weekend like this in Spring rather than the default. Of course, summers have gotten hotter, but July and August were already pretty warm and sunny with certain exceptions like July 1993 noted.

For me, any means below 10°C are cold, and means below 5°C are fuсkin cold. I think this applies for most people I know irl (some of them will complain from cold at even higher means).

Ideal climates for me are ones where mean temps stay above 15°C year-round, but above 10°C is also acceptable.

It is.   I bet you could go back to the 1950s and the UW dorms were stuffy and warm on a sunny spring day when its 70+ degrees.   That is the way it works in multi-story cement structures with no A/C.   They are drafty and cold all winter and then uncomfortably warm all summer.    That is the way dorms were for me in Minnesota back in the 1990s... and for my sons at UW and WSU.   Its a rite of passage.

Do you spend this amount time complaining about your skin and climate control issues of buildings all winter.

I didn’t live in a house with central AC until I was 14. We built four houses when I was a kid between’87-‘92. It was the last house that had central. Portable ACs didn’t exist. We just had the snarly window rattlers. Central air in a home was more of a luxury. This was in Kelowna, correctly known for hot, dry summers. Fans were the sound of my childhood. Somehow we survived.

It’s been nice enjoying the sunny warm weather but just wish we could mix some rain in. Too dry too fast this year…pretty much flipped into summer climo at this point.
