Downsize on house, upsize on land, so roughly the same price. the mortgage would be about the same (maybe $50-80k more thanks to closing fees) but at twice the rate. Yeah, it really only make financial sense to buy a place right now (for most people) if you can put down a huge down payment. Or even better just pay cash if you're downsizing and have enough equity. 2 Quote O the snow, the beautiful snow! Filling the sky and the earth below! ShawniganLake Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The massive Pear Lake fire continues to grow. Over 310,000 acres of mostly timber. There is not much grassland in that area. We talked to some people that were evacuated from Clinton and they thought they were going to be protected from the fire as they were near the Elephant hill burn scar from 2017. But the fire came in so hot and so fast, driven by strong winds and extreme drought, that the fire just re burnt the same area that was burnt just 9 years ago. 6 Quote
Meatyorologist Posted August 6 Posted August 6 11 minutes ago, T-Town said: It looks like there’s a pretty sharp aqi gradient for whatever reason. Worse on the eastside and better from the sound west. I imagine the Puget Sound absorbs much of the smoke, and the cleaner air blows onshore. Further inland, surface heating causes vertical mixing which brings down the smoke from aloft. What's more is that the Puget Sound itself creates a shallow temperature inversion, which disconnects the already cleaner air near the water from the smoke higher up. Near the water is the place to be. 1 Quote Weather stats for MBY Snowfall: -Total snowfall since joining: 56.25" -- Lake City, Seattle (LC) -- -2018-19: 21" -2019-20: 2.5" -2020-21: 13" -2021-22: 8.75" -2022-23: 5.75" -2023-24: 0.25" -2024-25: 4.75" -- Ballard, Seattle (B) -- -2025-26: 0.25" -Most recent snowfall: 0.25”; March 13th, 2026 (B) -Largest snowfall (single storm): 8.5"; February 12-13, 2021 (LC) -Largest snow depth: 14"; 1:30am February 12th, 2019 (LC) Temperatures: -Warmest: 109F; June 28th, 2021 (LC) -Coldest: 13F; December 27th, 2021 (LC)
