“Mountain snow and stormy conditions may arrive in late fall for the Northwest, northern California and northern Rockies,” Pastelok said.

Even the Interstate 5 corridor from Medford, Oregon, through Seattle will have several opportunities for accumulating snowfall, potentially even before 2020 draws to a close"

Despite Jesse’s meltdown, PDX could only claim their 3rd warmest September. Lameeeeeeee. Now that’s what I call “climate action.” Thank you Jess.

Yeah highs ended up a little cooler than expected the last few days so we dodged it. Still mind blowing to think where it could have ended up without all the smoke though Andrew. :0

Based on some quick, superficial analysis, seems the low pass analogs tend to feature a significant multiweek blowtorch in the East sometime during the second half of winter. Usually February.

Major cold centered over the Rockies/Plains in Dec/Jan is also a recurring tendency.

One of them was super +AO and warm everywhere. But most are relatively blocky and cold west of the Mississippi.

Currently a foggy 53 after a balmy low of 51.  Lots of excitement this morning, a garbage truck has broken down on our road.  The poor driver has very limited cell service and is waiting for an industrial sized tow truck.  The main road to the south is closed for repairs so the tow truck has to go through Arlington and back down to where he is.  On days like this it's the little things like this that make life interesting.  Even a photograph for your enjoyment.

I started to tell him about the time my aunt Merna had to change a tire on her 49 DeVille on Stevens Pass and he told me to go home as his eyes glazed over.  By the way they left at 11:22 am so things are back to normal.  Up to 58 now!
