When did our arctic blast happen last October? Maybe this is the new climate normal.

i c e a g e ?

There were actually three arctic airmasses last fall, one at the very end of September, one about 10 days later, and then a final shot around the 29th of October.

Yep, I remembered a few different continental airmasses, but couldn't remember the exact dates. Thanks!

I really loved last fall. Much better than the actual winter that showed up.

There was some pretty impressive cold for late September and October last year. Set records at my house. Last fall in general was very interesting...dry but chilly made for beautiful leaf colors and lots of amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Total snow per the 12Z GFS... Portland gets screwed again!    Even in October when blizzards are very common on the west side of the Cascades.   They can't win down there.

Why did you get a downvote? All you did was post the temps for Hillsboro. Hillsboro Envy?

I''m actually glad to know that.  Our high was 83F so we were one higher then HIO and our low was 46F and no sun till noonish.

How much different is HIO then PDX's weather?

Somebody doesn't like people who like 80 degree temperatures, especially in October.

This may be the earliest I’ve seen that much snowfall on a snow map. Can’t remember seeing that much accumulation on any snow maps this early around here. Fun to look at atleast could you imagine if this verified.

Spending the weekend at my folks house in Nampa again. Smoke alarms started going off at 1:00am and we eventually had to get the fire department out around 2:30 to verify carbon monoxide levels were fine and such. Just a faulty detector. Got plenty of sleep last night!
So maybe my lack of sleep is obscuring my vision or judgement but uh these models are wacky

I hate shoveling purple snow anyway.  A low of 50, currently 53 and feels like a cool, wet sponge outside.  I had 1.01" of rain yesterday, 4.56" for the month and 48.33" for the year.

Well, I keep hearing Halloween will be different this year. 2020 is a strange year. We shall see.

Trick or Treat?

That’s it....2020, low solar and little girl La Niña!   I wonder if Linus will still tend the pumpkin patch and await the Great Pumpkin!
