December 2010 and 11 were some pretty lame months during two moderate Ninas.

November 2006 was pretty intense up here in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Numerous atmospheric rivers, damaging windstorms, and then a major snowstorm at the end of the month followed by a significant arctic outbreak. I would not complain about a repeat. 😃

One of my favorite months of my almost 44yrs of life!! November 2006 had it all!!

December 2006 kept the storms coming too. Two damaging windstorms in a single week hit. January 2007 featured another arctic blast and significant snowfall. 2006/07 was overall a very active winter and goes down in my books as one of the best I've experienced living here.

Hasn't been nearly the tendency for warmth in the PNW during the winter in the current climate, vs the warm season.

In other news it is a really nice day here on the river, quite a few leaves floating past on the breeze. Next time I am here at the office will be later next week, the trees will probably be much more bare by that point.

Too long... but it was totally worth it in hindsight!  Of course... we had no way of knowing that then.    Entirely rebuilt grid and all underground.   Power never goes out now.     We were out for 10 days back then and maybe a total of 20% of that time in the 14 years since.   😃

It is hard to believe how stubborn this warm air is to leave.  It has slowly cooled over what we had yesterday, but still frustrating.  The wait is almost over now.  We should be below normal starting tomorrow night.  Looks like some light frost is very possible Thursday and Friday mornings.

Every time Tiger posts a weather summary for Eugene, I continue to be surprised by how strong the north/south temperature gradient has been recently. Today's high at KBLI was a full 11 degrees F cooler than what Tiger reported, and a dozen degrees cooler than the official reading at the Eugene airport.
