Banana belt! It's 42°F here. I do not expect to make it to the forecast high of 49 today.

Yeah it didn’t get nearly as cold down here. Puget sound banana belt. You go 5 miles away from the sound and it can be 5-7 degrees colder on mornings like this one.

As someone who lived within a mile of the Salish Sea on Bainbridge Island, I understand completely.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Got down to 23F which breaks the previous record low of 26F for the date set back in 1954.

A boring winter for the south valley ensued.

Is anyone comparing GFS V16 to V15?  Tropical Tidbits has both, but for V16 it only has the U.S., where for V16 it has North America.

Pivotal weather has North America for both versions, and so do the pay sites.  Wondering what version we should be using, and what version the NWS uses.

Just read that the Euro and V16 both have a major snowstirm for the Northeast.  Not that I care about the NE, but interesting that the Euro and the GFS V16 have a similar solution.  And maybe just that one time and only for the NE.  Don't know.

I’m not sure what the cloud situation is looking like tonight, but if it stays clear I could see a lot of places in W Oregon overachieving on lows.

Same here....pretty bad, you should have seen what it did to my cars.  Hopefully we will get a disaster declaration.

Still 48 here...hopefully we can manage another low in the mid 30s tomorrow morning as well. Don’t think we will get a freeze out of this cold snap but we still had some decently cold weather for this time of year the last few days.

Had some sleet here. Guessing that’s what you’re seeing evidence of.

I think it was mainly snow at my house.  I was going through my security footage this morning (we are having problems with car prowlers) and for the most part it appears to be snow (there was definitely sleet at times).

I wouldn't say out of nowhere, there was a developing vortmax (on the backside of the trough nearing the four corners) to the north of Williams Lake that moved due south overnight, which led to some snow/sleet/ice pellets to fall through a very shallow cold pool just above the surface.

Yes.  But Tim said it wasn't gonna happen.

Models did not show measureable precip... or even clouds until after dawn.

But these weak warm front situations are notorious for wringing out any moisture available.
