What was better November 1985 or February 2019?

Both had good longevity and punch...Tough call but I would have to say February 2019 edges 1985 out for me...probably because it’s a little more fresh in my mind.

I may not have experienced Nov 1985. But I will say Feb 2019 for how widespread it was all over the PNW and if you count the number of days alone it snowed in spots (I counted 20 days of sticking snow at my place!)

Made it up to 61F after a low of 27F. About a -5F departure on a beautiful day.

67 / 18 here. SO close to a 50 degree spread.

I usually only see such spreads when the lows are around 30 or so, then going to 80.

Feb 2019 gave me my 2nd snowiest birthday ever, so that does it for me.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Can’t speak on 1985 myself but I can speak on 2008 and 2019. Personally liked 2019 the best. Had a lot more snow here locally in 2019 vs 2008.

2008 was a lot snowier up here in the Fraser Valley than 2019. Colder too. So 2008 is the winner for me.

Dec 2008 was great where I was at in Yamhill County at the time. Was my personal last White Christmas.

But Feb 2019 was better for the south valley in terms of sustained cold and then a huge snowstorm to cap it off.

For not hating rain enough?

Yes. Rain is basically the cause of all our woes. Even forest fires are to blame on them since they create all those lush forests, which invariably burn when their time comes. The only good precipitation is snow or ice pellets.

Get any “good precipitation” up your way in the most recent cold snap?

Nope, just a lot of cold rain. Snow was not far away at all for this time of year though. I drove up to Cypress and the lowest elevation I saw snow on the ground was ~1380 feet, just before that view point area.
