EPS showed warm and dry for late September and early October.   That happened.   Of course inversions play a role now in surface conditions.  

EPS also showed the cooler and wetter period coming up.   

And now shows another ridgy period starting in a week.

What cooler and wetter period? You mean 2-3 days of rain.

Only down to 55F here. Going to be another above normal day. Haven’t had a below normal one this month. The only time I can find a longer streak of warm and dry weather to start October was...2014-15.

Other than last fall we have had a lot of really warm ones the past decade.

A lot of really warm seasons period. It's kind of a race to the bottom anymore as to which has been our warmest consistently.

Depends on how you look at it. 50 years ago all of our seasons were generally cooler. A lot more goodies to go around then too!!!!

Hard to say. Some of us got a pretty decent cold wave last January, and last October was pretty cold.
