A paltry 0.09" overnight, bringing my monthly total to 1.14".

EUG is at -6.94 for the calendar year.    Dry!

Indeed... the north/south anomaly gradient is alive and well.

PDX is only -0.99 for the year now and that deficit could be close to erased by tomorrow.

Will wait until
the entire 12z model run is completed but at this point looks like
we will increase the wind forecast enough to issue a wind
advisory from about Snohomish county south for the interior
Tuesday morning with the afternoon forecast. Wind advisory for
the coast more than likely to be issued as well. Parent low with
the front, approximately 1000 mb, moving inland near the Canadian
border Tuesday afternoon. Strong westerly surge down the Strait of
Juan de Fuca behind the low for the potential of more wind
advisories for the Strait into Whidbey Island Tuesday
afternoon/evening. Rain changing to showers by midday Tuesday.

I will no doubt get backlash... This is that time of year I start wanting more overcast skies.

If it was possible I'd donate my conditions to all you guys. ;)

How sure has to come back from the summer and the summer time to explore new seasons and beyond the world of our camping gear and the winter is going to come over.

Canadian shows a major snowstorm out this way this weekend. Models are really struggling with where to setup that ridge.

Typical fall model struggles I suppose.

ECMWF places the block offshore, where the GFS and Canadian put it over us.

Didn't realize the Canadian jumped ship this morning. It had been supporting a more Euro like solution for several runs

The 12z GFS actually took a big step toward the Euro.

It's further west with the weekend trough though. Ridge is more progressive than the Euro but the models are really struggling beyond day 5 at this point so take it with a grain of salt.

53 after a warm low of 47.  Picked up another .56" for a new monthly total of 2.75" and 47.52 for the year.  I can hardly wait for hour 624 and that mixture of rain and snow possibility.

We should get some wind advisory's out of this south of Tacoma

Nws already said there will likely be advisory criteria winds pretty much everywhere. Last night was pretty windy but this looks a tad more potent.

Early action is usually Washington-based stuff. That's why we down here prefer the cold anomalies to hold off until about Nov 15th or later.

A lot of where the future blocking develops seems to come down to the exact placement and timing of individual ripples in the jet the next several days, which can be hard to predict in a quasi zonal pattern like the current one.

Because the ONLY purpose for cold anomalies is snow.

With as few cold anomalies as we get, I feel like it would be nice for them to happen during our regular season.
